Howdy,

If one were to create a Dark Elf wizard, then go to Crushbone, forgetting that it would lower my Indigo Brotherhood (Warrior guild) faction ...And then if one were to attempt to turn in a quest to the Indigo Brotherhood in Neriak, how would one do that if one were to now be KOS?

Would a Troll or Ogre illusion work? Or what would be the best way to begin raising that faction back up?

I'm a fool. Thanks.

the wiki is awful in places but always improving... for faction its solid, take a peek. Looks like the quests to raise it are all from the warrior guild itself, which is a shame - and short of murdering slaves in CB or leveling and killing Kelethin guards it's a long long road back.

afaik an illusion isn't going to save you if you killed many orcs :p

I have a half elf warrior of innoruuk on red. In order to prove my Teir'dal lineage many, many slaves in Crushbone had to be killed before the Indigo Brotherhood would acknowledge me as one of their own and give me training.

Now I know all of the finest warrioring techniques as taught by the Brotherhood.

Better question. How would a wizard use troll or ogre illusions?

Isn't there a wizard trainer in Overthere? That should be a totally different faction. You still would have the problem of buying spells, but that can be overcome with the help of others or rolling a level 1 at the wizard city of your choice.

Indigo Brotherhood has a very small presence in Neriak. You should be fine. Just travel with in is.

If you can get close enough to the quest mob that it doesn't aggro and open the trade box, such as standing around a corner and opening the tradebox in 3rd person view, you can open a tradebox, use your innate hide, consider the quest giver and make sure you're indifferent, then click trade and it should work. I have a dark elf wizard, let me know the quest and I can see if it's possible and show you how.

Just FYI hide turn ins have been kinda buggy lately. I know one of our SKs had an epic piece eaten doing a hide turn in, we redid it with an invis turn in and it worked perfectly.

Thanks, Ravager. It's the Halfling Raider Helms quest to Narex T'vem of the Warriors Guild. I ran across those Halfling camps - Great XP if you can get them broken up. Multiple spawn points, tons of mobs within shouting distance. Found a quest to turn in 4 of the helms to that guy, thought maybe it would be a repeatable worth ......repeating.

I guess I'm confused about the whole faction and illusion thing. I thought that with the proper illusion, say from an enchanter, I'd be able to slip past regardless of faction, and that it was the deity that would get in the way. If not, what's the point of those illusion spells?

So, if I were an agnostic wood elf with a DE illusion, I could sneak into the warriors guild - but if I'm a Sol Ro Dark Elf with bad faction and a Troll Illusion, I can't?

I figured the slave killing, as I'm only lvl 11, would be the best idea. Is there some nerd formula out there that calculates how many slaves I'd have to kill to become dubious? Surely someone, somewhere, has created that.

Just skip it. Not worth.

Why are you so desperate to fix the warrior guild faction? I only did it for RP purposes. You're pretty safe even when the warriors hate you.

It takes quite a few slave kills to get your faction up, but I don't think it was hundreds. I think I started at threatening.

BTW enchanters can't cast illusions on others (beside werewolf). With faction there are several factors: your appearance (e.g. your race or illusion), your class, your deity and your actions. If you have upset a faction enough they won't like you even if you appear to be a race they would normally tolerate.

Yeah, the warriors really only occupy a very small area of Neriak. There's no need to go near them. My warrior pissed them off ages ago (touchy people, the Indigo Brotherhood) and he still wanders freely around Neriak all the time.

Thanks, I didn't know that.

It's stubbornness. We all know Nektulos isn't the greatest newbie zone. In my desperate search to find something to do to break up the monotony, I ran across that quest on wiki. Now, I just want to do it. Because.

Just skip it. Not worth.

Good thing I asked about its worthiness.

Oh, yeah, you're trying to do this for a quest. For some reason I didn't grok that in the initial reading.

Slaves, then.

Illusion spells are self only with the exception of share wolf form, which is outdoor only.

I just checked out that npc, and the hide method is possible, but will be dangerous and difficult with the roaming mobs. You'd need to open the trade box and get a successful hide almost immediately before one of the pathers walk by, so I wouldn't recommend trying.

Don't know what level you are, but murdering the wood elves in Lesser Faydark will fix that faction. They're level 25 non-casters on a 6 minute timer. Might be able to quad kite them at 29 for exp and faction.

Can anyone confirm as of today that it is currently possible to even become KOS to Indigo Brotherhood as a dark elf? If you are, please include your race/deity/class.

I ask because I (half elf agnostic bard) at "Your faction standing with IndigoBrotherhood could not possibly get any worse." still go from scowls to dubious with dark elf mask which leads me to believe that right now dark elves cannot drop below dubious.

For a society that mostly hates everything they do tolerate a lot of things.
