Pretty bad actually. First they pointed fingers at Forsaken and Asgard for co-raiding. Then they took on Taken and haven't really improved. This just reeks or desperation for attention when you look at the mobs Forsaken and Asgard are killing.

Yes. It means players who pay attention and have better reflexes get the first pull. Instead of depending on any sort of automation. How can you not see that ? EQ is not a big skill based game to begin with. It's learn mechanics and perform them correctly.

Correct you don't need 93 people for Lady M, we have killed here with high 30s to low 40s. However competition has gotten it to a point where everything is insta pulled so having 93 at prime time means nothing. It's about have 40 people fast at 4am.

I really don't see why you find this confusing. The random variable in question is the number of tunics, robes, and staves after killing N kings. The average is the expected number of each, and the variance represents how large the deviation from the average is likely to be.

The Central Limit Theorem states:

The sample mean of a large random sample of random variables with mean μ and finite variance σ² has approximately a normal distribution with mean μ and variance σ²/n.

It does not address convergence because not all instances have the same rate of convergence. The fact is that the drop rates are not identical, so this situation is not iid. To get a 'standard normal distribution', you need to use another variable, (X - μ)/σ.

I don't quite understand what you mean by the drops vs the king as the choice of the random variable. The multinomial distribution seems very natural to me as it mimics how the loot table works. Are you suggesting that it is better to model it with three separate boolean variables, i.e. P(Tunic), P(Robe), and P(Staff)? Even here, I don't see why each variable would not be IID wrt other instances of itself, and I would think CLT would apply just fine. In other words, the average number of tunics per king should approach the mean and have a gaussian distribution even though the event itself is a discrete 0/1.

That's exactly what I was saying, except to me they are just discrete variables. :) If you look at the "the average number of tunics per king", I guess I can agree with you. If you are saying, the probability that a tunic will drop, then I would say they are not identical because the probability of the different items is different.
