- it's not fair to us that you give us grief when all we do is provide something you've wanted for years.

- it's not fair that the staff has to deal with said grief because they are helping develop a server for you to play on.

personally, I think it's selfish and you guys who do complain about every little thing that happens to you or your guild should die in a fire.

Life is rarely fair. You have to take the good with the bad when providing any type of service. Which is why many establishments have it posted that they have the right to refuse to service anyone.

For every 10 whiners, there is going to likely be 3-4 valid bug reports farmed due to the whining alone if you pay attention to them.

I'm taking my ball and going home (or, the door is right there) mentality is circular logic when ranting on such a subject. Like temporary buffers, you just need to let that shit go, or else you're going to slowly leak until you're unstable.

Secrets does a great job, along with the rest of the p99 staff. I feel bad for the GMs that have to deal with petty raid disputes all the time from greedy children. Beside that though, keep up the good work!

Totally valid, secrets, but keep in mind that many people who play Everquest do not give a crap about the game itself, or the huge nostalgia factor of this particular version: They are merely projecting their pathetic egos into a graphical interface, and this one just happens to be their preferred. Hence the guild-wide territorial pissing contests and yes constant bitching about trivial matters.

Not trying to jump on the bandwagon but I think you guys have done a great job with p1999. Honestly i would have paid a fee to play here if it was "mandatory". All the drama comes with the territory and what you have built. Savor it because in a few years it will be gone.

2 points:

1. Your rant is kind of like when a boss/ coach/ guildleader/ etc. rants at people who showed up about how people don't show up. In other words, the people you are ranting at are not the ones that are listening/ giving a shit.

2. Don't fall into the self-selected sample trap that many in customer service/ complaints dept/ law enforcement do. The people who piss you off are a very VERY small % of the population; they just seem like a large % because the nature of the job means that if people don't have a problem/ complaint/ whine you probably won't end up dealing with them.

corollary of 2: if you perma-ban the blubbering whiners, they are such a small minority that few will even notice, contrary to their claims of being the spokesman for the "silent majority."

Just minor crap from morons shits up the gears, and that's really my only complaint about this server: the players who exist in the game only to make it not as enjoyable for the rest of us.

Anyway, self-centered assholes are everywhere, including places such as real life, and the work place. I can only assume most of the people playing here are in their late 20's or early 30's, which makes some of the behavior (and grammar) displayed a cause for concern.
