1. find a vending machine and put a penny inside
2. push the button that returns your change
3. repeat until a dime comes out

the way the trick works is that sometimes pennies get mistaken for dimes in vending machines. Sometimes you won't get anything back, but it doesn't matter because the trick works more than 10% of the time so you usually end up profiting.

How is this a dupe trick?

You should end up with 2 pennies... with your "trick" you loose your penny and end up with a dime. It's not the same thing much less 2 of the same thing.

Makes no sense anyway... everyone knows pennies are better than dimes cause they are bigger.

I used to do this kinda shit in highschool.

I remember one of our vending machines would sometimes count a quarter and return it at the same time as you put it in. I quickly realized I could just keep slamming quarters through and then get more returned to me to make money, and abused that as long as it worked.

Another thing I learned fairly early on was that you could abuse jammed coin slots to make some quick change. Just jam a slot when no one is around, then later once some coins have built up get a gatorade bottle and take the little orange ring off the top. Cut that ring and it becomes an amazing tool for fishing coins out of a slot.

How about the tape a long string or some kind of handle to the very tail end of a dollar bill. Could put it in, and then rip it back out, and you got full price!

Sometimes, your tail would rip, and you'd be screwed, but sometimes it worked!

I just held the button down for whatever drink I wanted and would hit the machine with the bottom of my first in a certain spot. That would make the drink fall out. It worked on several different machines over the years.

There was a soda machine at a community college near where one of my friends lived that we used to make a grip from.. Get a high volume spray bottle (like from a hardware store, not a hair spritzer piece of crap) and fill it with highly salted water (like 1/4 cup in a pint or a quart or some shit). Put the setting on stream, and spray that shit into where the coins go.. Shorted out the machine, which for some dumbass reason caused it to empty all of it's change. We'd go back every fridaynight/saturdaymorning with a bag for money and make like $300 a pop. Hellalarious. They fixed it eventually, dunno if it works on newer machines.

Also one time I tried to buy a energy drink from a vending machine, and it kept returning my money.. till i figured out that someone else had a similar problem but just walked away with their money in it.. Turned out, while the sign said $2 for a drink, it's circuits actually thought they cost 50 cents.. went back that same night with like $50 and filled three huge backpacks with premium energy drinks. :D

i knew one sorta like this. I held the button in, released it a SLIGHT bit, and hit buttons for other drinks while still holding the first button in. This would allow me to get 1-3 extra sodas until i eventually shifted and lost correct pressure on the original button.

my favorite trick on vending machines is tricking food vending machines:

Here is how it works:

Get a food to be stuck and make sure its stuck and then press the button for the food to come out and if you are lucky, you will get 5 for the price of 1.

Or you could push the machine till it comes out and get 1 absolutely free.

I once got 5 potato chips for the price of 1
I also got 3 things for the price of 1 this way.

I know this place that I go to every day. I just sit around doing nothing, but they give me money! As far as I can tell, they keep giving me money every time I come, so something must be broken. I'm currently investigating this more to see if there is any real income potential here.

1) Sit outside home depot and wait for someone to throw out there bag while coming out or look thru garbage for one.
2) Go to another home depot and go find product in the isle.
3) Return it and get cash if it was a cash purchase or store credit if it was on credit card and sell the store credit for 40% at a pawn shop.

I once found a vending machine that gave me my selected snack and 50 cents change for a buck, I pressed the money return button and got my buck back. I kept doing this making like 50 cents and getting a free snack every time. Eventually I got bored and left with a giant bag of snacks and like 20 bucks.

I once bought a car stereo, opened the bottom of the box, put a can of catfood in the box and returned it for a refund. I kind of feel bad for the guy that has to explain to them that he bought a car stereo and got a can of catfood in the box.

I remember when I was in South Carolina one of my cousins showed me a trick with these goofy drink vending machines they had.

Basically it had a glass front and a conveyor belt that moved up and down, and then when at the proper drink it would knock it on to and then would run the conveyor to the left where the drink went through a door and fell out.

All you had to do was reach inside and hold the door that the drinks came through closed, the drink would never register as having been dispensed and it would give you your money back. You'd also already have a drink on the conveyor, so you put your money back in (and do the same thing again if you please) or just select your drink and bam, two come down the conveyor to you.

Lets say at best you get a dime every 30secs and that the vending machine has an endless supply of dimes. So in an hour you make around $1.20.

Do your math again.

$0.20 a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, $12 an hour.
