The trick to cooking with any kind of oil is finding that sweet spot where it doesn't burn, smoke, get rancid on you quick. But cooks food the fastest. Every oil is different.

What line did you cross on the p99 subreddit? Takes a pretty heavy dose of trolling to get suspended from there.

You guys are misinformed. Rapeseed is Canola. It was a name they came up with in the 70's to market it because nobody wanted to buy rape oil.....

It's just a genetically modified version that doesn't taste as bad.....

qft. But watch out with your coconut oils! If you try cooking a steak with unrefined oil you're going to have a smoky nightmare. The more refined the coconut oil, the higher temp it will tolerate - without corrupting the natural flavourings of the dish!

However, sometimes you want that delicious coconuty addition, such as when stir frying shrimp.

My favorite fat is of course butter, but it's really not that great for frying considering it's low burn point. But it's great for eggs, which should be cooked at low temp anyway.

Currently I have three different types of coconut oil.

Coconut oil is also good because it's high content of Monounsaturated Fats. These fats are very good for you.

Rapeseed oil, and most seed oils (sesame, walnut, etc) are extremely high in omega 6 fats, which is very inflammatory

so it makes sense that RNF would prefer them

Pro tip. flick water in it to find that sweat spot. It'll bubble the same at each temp.
