View Full Version : Are there ANY starter/lowbie zones not perma-ruined by twinks and PLing dr00ds?

I've got 5 toons, all under 20, as I'm a recent startup.

As of now, every single one of them is unplayable (Saturday night primetime)

Because every single one of them...from levels 9 to 16ish...is in an area completely taken over by ubertwinked cunts that steal all the mobs and assling PL dr00d 'assistants' that keep them regened and DSed.

I spent an hour in Lavastorm of all places...soloing at 16, leveling to 17....minding my own business on my mage.

Sure as shit, twinked to the balls level 10 (!) DE enchie with a 40+ assling dr00d in tow rip through the entire visible area near Najena (where the mobs are dark blue or higher to me at 17) and fucking EMTPY it of mobs inside of 3 minutes while I med on the ramp.

I've got a lowbie necro in FoB. He's 12 now. Has been for weeks. Trying to get a toe in edgewise in Kurns is an excercise in futility. You guessed it....6AM, 10 PM, doesn't matter...twinks PLing the way through.

Crushbone? Good fucking luck. I have a 10 ranger, a 9 druid, and a 10 cleric there. The druid and ranger also tried Blackburrow and Runnyeye. Shouted for groups .... nothing but twink partners.

C'mon. Doesn't anyone actually PLAY the fucking game and learn how to play a class?

I think it was bad luck in regards to lavastorm . Its usually empty. Im guessing you work day times? Lots of open stuff during weekdays. But check unrest see if you can get in the main room grp or try lake of ill omen. Even with a bARD pulling theres so many mobs .

I usually had pretty good luck with Field of Bone, killing the badgers in the pit near Kurns. At higher levels you can do various mob highways that run throughout the zone.

There are just so many mobs that even if there's a PLer and/or a bard, you can stay afloat. Stay out of Kurns. FoB is better xp anyway because more mobs + single pulls.

Everyone on this server is super rich and / or has been playing since classic/kunark and knows almost all information about the game. Everyone's done the nostalgia play and now the only ones who really seem to be left are the raiders or semi casual end game peeps.

If you want to try something fresh and level with people in rags, give red a thought - far closer to the 1999 experience, just with a pvp ruleset

Go to LOIO at lvl 23 and stop re-rolling. By starting 2049285818 new characters every time you encounter this shit you're re-creating your own fate.

Unless it's one of those scenarios where the guy likes his balls crushed with high heels?

No safety word in P99 bruh, #ballsnomore.

Roll an Iksar, and level up solely in Swamp of No Hope. Absolutely no one ever wants to be in that zone at any given time. Frontier Mountains, pretty much the same. I'd suggest Velious in the 30's but bards are screwing that up too. Seriously, just fuck bards.

Lmfao if you can't find mobs to kill in your teens stop playing this game. It'll only get worse as you level. Their are a crapload of newbie zones where you can kill stuff. I've leveled many alts and have never had a problem like you speak of

someidiot

I started as an Iksar, FoB to Kurns was pretty easy to handle. After Kurns it's up to you, can go to OT Water hole (my personal favorite) and solo till about 25, or go to LOIO and kill some junk there. There is a group that does Ledge there, at around 22 or so, it's suppose to be good exp but I wouldn't know, that zone is terrible.

After that, can hit up giant fort in WW, and I can offer you no advice from that point. I play mostly after 5pm EST to 12 AM, and I never had a lot of issues finding groups or finding mobs to kill.

As for the bards, I have seen them in OT a few times, but I just take some of the mobs they are pulling. They try to pull like 30 at a time, my guild told me you're allowed to steal some mobs back after 4 or 5 are pulled, so I feel no remorse when I take a few of theirs.

I really don't think this is valid. CB, are you serious? Just go in, find a spot and take orcs. SOMETIMES everything is camped. In that case there is this thing called /ooc. If you use that and said "lvl xx 'classhere' lfg" 9/10 you'll get someone telling you to join them. Otherwise go to BB which is 1 zone over and I NEVER see anyone ever killing that entire zone.

Secondly, you should talk to these "twinked" out players and tell them you are lfg. Sometimes they will add you to the group and you will get LOTS of xp and have fun and meet a new person whom you can befriend.

OR! You can R&F.

Yea... I'm sorry, but this is like the people that roll on red, then quit in a week and cite the reason being that they got griefed relentlessly in cb, mm and unrest.

If you don't want to fight with 100 other people stop going to the most popular levelling areas in the game.

Blue metagame is only easiest zones or exploit non classic AE farming. Just look at all the peasants squabbling over mobs in MM while real adventurers zones like guk sit mostly empty. It is in such a sad state I actually witnessed a group of PLers take the canyon away from the pond group in MM last night.

Won't even PL if you aren't 100 feet from a ZL, now that's some classic challenge right there.

I wish, would have been a lot more entertaining. I gave the poor newbies some buffs so they could compete with the raid guild scum stealing their merbs to PL alts tho.

When I was in UGuk a couple months back it was pretty busy, and LGuk was fairly busy when I would occasionally pop in. On Red, however, they are both empty far more frequently than MM. I personally love MM, though, so I don't mind.

IDK red was boring and felt like a dying server, unless you were getting PL'd by thunderdrome in one of the afformentioned zones to be fed into the zerg that is empire.

So I rerolled on blue again. Having much more fun competing for decaying skeles in rags in Nektulous.

People who bitch about other players making an online game world richer through emergent gameplay are slightly mentally handicapped.

Nobody makes you join a six man group, try a duo or even solo if you want to "turn it down".

Exactly! I've done plenty of small groups and solo. It all depends on what I feel like I am up for. The other thing to keep in mind is that even though we've an xp bonus, gameplay itself is generally slower because lowbies aren't geared to the teeth and even at higher lvls (pre-raid), pvp means that players prioritize resists over other stats.

As far as time investment on red/blue, given a fixed amount of playtime:

1. If you want to experience a greater variety of content, roll red
2. If you want to experience a greater volume of the same content, roll blue.

maerilith
11-05-2015, 10:34 AM
Yeah it's pretty sick, and usually as soon as you join a group a level 60 druid shows up in zone to powerlevel you red too.

It's not everquest. It's kindercare for aspergers.

maerilith
11-05-2015, 10:36 AM
Oh and the "try a duo" thing only works if you have social skills and people want to duo with you. Nobody wants to duo with me because I'm bad, and am bad at thegame. So I have to join those zergling pugs in order to level.

Actually the duoin thing is nice. I just wish more people would ascribe to them.
