So we were having a great camp there in the throne room in crushbone, we half wipe and the rest run (sadly). We come bck to the camp, and one of the officer's of Wrecking Ball, "Xaiterlyn" comes in and takes the camp from us. We resurrected and went straight back to the camp, but the lvl 35 refused to relinquish the camp back to us. He's not getting xp there, and now there is a group with no where to go for xp.

QQ more.
Really though, you lost the camp - he didn't steal it. It's a tad rude but totally within the play nice rules and is plain common sense. He may need it for something. Getting exp is not a requirement to hold a camp.

Yea tough luck for you. Common courtesy would dictate to give up your lowbie camp to actual lowbies when they arrive, but that's not enforced here. A dick move for sure still.

You did die/flee from camp, so he could legitimately take it if he wanted to.
Still a dick move.

Dick move city usa. They wiped, they should be allowed to go back to their camp to try again.

Sucks, but you died and lost camp. It's in the rules. That being said, it's pretty lame that occurred to you in CB. At higher levels in zones such as Seb or HS it is much more common place to lose a camp after a wipe, because it really does show you couldn't hold it efficiently enough. But in a low level zone such as Crushbone, it does seem extra lame to have people stealing camps on wipes. Those are the zones where you learn how to "crawl" through camps.
Bummer, but you did learn something from the experience.

I'd be curious to know what the Druid wanted with the camp. Farming Lego pads for an alt? If he were just after D'Vinn or something, he could have said so and avoided looking like a douche :/ Whether it falls within the pnp or not, it's a shit move to pull on lowbies and he should be ashamed.

Every time I group with someone in <Wrecking Ball> (been probably 5-10 times now over the weeks on my Necro) someone in my group 100% of the time asks if the guild leader is Miley Cyrus....just an observation.

This right here. Shit move whether or not it's allowed.
Thank you for informing our community about this bad apple OP. There are many players out there who enjoy playing this game WITH others and when you point out incidents like this it makes it clear who we should not be playing with.
Don't let anyone tell you that the squeeky wheel doesn't get the clean. Minsc and Boo know what I'm talkin' about.

Xaiterlyn's a Ranger, not a Druid. He's not an especially good one and after doing a lot of farming of the Hermit and then Groi Gutblade in South Karana, he's burned out and was talking about making a different character. To be useful to groups, or something. My guess is he took the camp to farm belts and pads for the intended alt.
As previously mentioned, a camp on this server has to be broken so that full respawns aren't present AND a player is present to maintain the camp. One or more players can be AFK during the respawns time period - you just can't let the camp get to full respawns and then leave them sitting there.
The CB Keep group didn't do the above, so it was fair game. It was shitty of him since he has a leveled toon that could just buy the belts and pads, but then again the ranger is only in his early - mid 30's so it's not like it would feel good to pay 3pp a belt and 5 or 6pp a pad with the cash camps he could access. Camping them instead of paying those costs WAS the smarter move.
Flame away.

I don't see the logic in teaching lowbies and newbies that this is how we treat each other in our community. It could also be said that if the big picture is taken into consideration, it was the dumber move.
We're all in this nostalgia together.

When I said it was the smarter move, I meant in terms of his shelling out plat vs. what he could earn through his own means. I completely agree that encouraging newer players to get their belts and pads and get their starting money and having fun doing it is the RIGHT thing - hence my saying 'it was a shitty thing to do'.
Perhaps it would be a lot less of an issue if higher level players would stop busting out the big wallets in Gfay with shouts of "4pp / belt and 8pp / pad" that happens periodically. From the perspective of players that can no longer level in CB, it IS turning it into a cash farm camp. Sort of like how we see players in their mid 20's going Anon or Roleplay in Lfay with the sister camp farming bronze at zero Exp while waiting for a group in Mistmoore. It's sickening.

You bring up an interesting point, and I feel like we all face this at one point or another.
Do I grind exp? Or do I grind plat? There are times when we can do both, but there's also times when we don't get that benefit.
For some classes (melee) grinding up plat can yield more improvements to your character via gear upgrades than levels will provide, and vice versa for casters.
Outside of those choices, and what this post is pointing towards, we are often faced with the decisions on how we treat others while pursuing plat or levels, right? And this is where things can get tough, but I'd suggest a third object we can "grind." That's our reputations on this server.
In the crushbone scenario, I bet the best outcome could have been the higher level Xaiterlyn offering to help out the lowbies retake their camp. Sit with them a bit and share some light banter or chit chat about whatever everyone can find in common. Give them some buffs, establish some rapport, and maybe offer to buy a few of the belts/pads off the lowbies so they have some walking-around money.
It's like you can opt to take the higher road or w/e, but I still think we can view this as earning reputation with each other.
The majority of conversations I see on this game point in two directions: 1) Plat or 2) Get to 60. Not many voices out there championing the idea of community, and pursuing an adventure instead of money or power.

Yes, I did take on throne room, because I just zoned in and saw no one was there. I needed the pads for an alt. I was going by the guidelines of camps. I was in throne room for ten minutes before I see in ooc that tr group was lfm. But I was only one there. I was about to let them have it back until I was called childish names. I usually do helplower characters, but not with that attitude. Ask around, I'm not some douche who just goes around taking camps. In fact I'm very helpful if you are nice to me and treat me with respect. And on a side note, I didn't know I had to be amazing at a game I play for fun.

Tip of the hat to you for posting.
One small suggestion which you can throw away if you'd like... If someone runs up on you and has a tantrum over what they think is happening without being rational, don't immediately lower yourself to that behavior.
Getting some enraged tells can be annoying especially when they're attacking you as a person, but you're above that. Try to sort through the whines and find out how to get everyone on the same page tactfully. Maybe even apologize even if you weren't in the wrong.
Personally, I had an incident last night where some lowbie was dying behind me in WC while I was sorting throw tells on my Druid (member of Dial a Port, so this is how I make my plat right now :D). I didn't catch on to what exactly was happening until to late, and the dude died. That guy was giving me some grief for a good while, but I kept apologizing to him and tried to explain to him what I was dealing with at the time. Never once did I tell him to eff off. After awhile he apologized to me, and told me about how he's had it rough for awhile.
It's definitely worth it to be the good guy imo.

If you had no idea they were there to begin with and waited that long and their first communication towards you was name calling, then I don't fault you at all. It sounds more like they were trying to claim a camp they couldn't hold and were belligerent about it, rather than the victims of a sudden camp invasion.
