Found out that my account was banned in a "sweep" of all the old officers of Haggard Krew and I am guilty by association.

I had little time nor patience to seek out someone I knew. All I wanted to do was remove all the games I don't play anymore and move on. It baffles me that this even happened because what logic is there in the decision to ban someone who gives their entire account away with everything on it? Furthermore how is that RMT? And why would you report someone for that? What the fuck? I walked up to Oleris at SF ramp and asked him if he wanted it and he said "that would be nice". Why not just tell me to fuck off?

I think this just goes with the normal set of standard where someone at HK gets banned wrongfully and everyone they traded with gets banned too. And after spending hours dealing with petitions to get unbanned it's just chalked up as a false positive. So glad I'm done with this place.

I have only ever had bad experiences with <Haggard Krew>. Whether it be low level camps in Castle Mistmoore, or a fight over King in Seb, I have pretty much disliked every single one of you that I have met in game. I'm sure there are exceptions I am not remembering - it would be very unlikely that 100% of a guild is dog sh!t, but the dog sh!t member you have are REALLY bad. The amount of evidence this guy conjures up is unreal. I've heard about the stuff he's told people "he has evidence of" and time and time again it comes up false. Then, he has to unban them and he gets super defensive when you tell him to stop being so reckless. When all you do is sit in the database and look at transactions out of context it's going to get you in trouble....especially when you're technically inept.

Technically, how can someone deduce that an IP address is being used through a VPN just because the IP address is different? You can't. Secondly, at what point does a subnet mask become relevant at all when the game doesn't even capture that information?

I logged in on my laptop from my in-laws house. The IP address is different than my home IP address - but ive logged in to the account from IP addresses multiple times before. Simple detective work would deduce that I am the same person.

I'm a strong proponent of transparency. I am for something like this, but right now it is our policy to not post any specifics about any bans/suspends/etc. I am working internally to change that policy, but as it is that's the policy I am bound by.

Yes, if he has had access to your account. I don't know the details of this specific case, but many players have been banned, at least temporarily, because they gave someone access to their account who turned out to be someone other than they thought.

Tried to log in tonight to say hello to some old friends which was met with a "You have been banned" message.

Found out that my account was banned in a "sweep" of all the old officers of Haggard Krew and I am guilty by association.

The staff is not beholden to the community. None of us are. They may be a part of it, but it is their show and we are free to choose either to participate or to not participate. The simple fact that we choose to participate in their endeavor entitles us to nothing. We either enjoy ourselves or we do not. If we do not, then we should look elsewhere.

I've been here a long time, I've never expected anything from the staff except that they hold true to their word: to continue to strive to provide a classic experience. They have kept their word and I have enjoyed myself, within the parameters they set forth^^

The times where I have needed GM intervention are few and far between. When I FIRST started playing P99 last October, I accidently deleted my 2 hand Wu Staff while in Highpass Hold (I thought it was a cracked staff by mistake), I petitioned and had it back within a few days. One time I handed my Sebelis Key to Siren in Sky instead of a Bird Whistle or some other sh!t, and again i had my key back within a week.

What else do you fools think GMs are here for besides sh!t like the above? If you roll an alt and are killing giants in FM (which I am currently doing, ding 30 last night btw) what on earth would you need GM intervention for? Camp disputes are classic, and whoever does the most DPS usually wins the battle (because the other group will p!ss off, like they should). But then you can come flame them on the forums and everyone will know they are as a$shole and will think twice about grouping with them....thats the EQ I remember, not GM's holding everyone's hand.

The ONLY reason i probably still play on P99 is because of how they ban people for RMT and Boxing. If they stopped doing this I would be playing A LOT more Diablo 3 and single player RPGs that I have stolen from Pirate Bay.

You and every player on my friends list after I got tagged! I was shocked at how bad their rep was. I wasn't online for want of the shitty things they did, but I can confirm that there were quite a few douches loving bragging about themselves / their loots they won. I remember being in a Velks UD group and seeing this rogue spamming every drop that showed up in BM like the rest of the zone cared. Did a /who and saw he was in HK. Was really surprised. -_-

The amount of evidence this guy conjures up is unreal. I've heard about the stuff he's told people "he has evidence of" and time and time again it comes up false. Then, he has to unban them and he gets super defensive when you tell him to stop being so reckless. When all you do is sit in the database and look at transactions out of context it's going to get you in trouble....especially when you're technically inept.

Technically, how can someone deduce that an IP address is being used through a VPN just because the IP address is different? You can't. Secondly, at what point does a subnet mask become relevant at all when the game doesn't even capture that information?

I logged in on my laptop from my in-laws house. The IP address is different than my home IP address - but ive logged in to the account from IP addresses multiple times before. Simple detective work would deduce that I am the same person.

Server operators have figured out how to profit off of server, and I wouldn't doubt for a minute that they routinely ban/strip accounts and RMT. Would love to see actual cashflow logs to Rogean. He has really set up a nice little side job here.
