i have lost maybe 8 FTEs there due to UK latency and spent weeks tracking his timer but id still rather it be fte than a camp - are you able to afk until his window ?

I don't see how it's even comparable pained soul; there is no ph, it roams, it can skip a spawn, etc.

It may not require a raid, but it's spawn characteristics are similar to a raid mobs, and as such should be treated as such imo..

Yep, but the original EQ developers understandably failed to take into consideration the sheer level of neckbeardery that would ensue 15 years later on an emulated trilogy server.

In my humble opinion, if P99 developers wanted to make Stormfeather/Lodizal truly classic encounters, they'd simply randomize their spawn locations spanning the entire zone.

I've suggested that if we're going to use variance we should use a complete variance....... Like the chance for a mob to pop every tick (with a very very small chance) so it could go 2 hours or 2 months before some mobs pop.

It's unbelievable that 2 decades later people are making this game way harder than it has to be. Nearly 20 years ago with many more servers and a much higher population not even half the amount of issues were brought up as today with you people. This server is like the melting pot for halfwit scumbags that don't understand common courtesy or reputation, which was a huge part of classic EQ.

If somebody is at the camp, its camped. If nobody is there, its not camped and its yours. It's literally that simple. Just because your mad that somebody is there and you know hes popping soon or blah blah blah doesn't mean you should behave like an imbecile.

Take that negativity to RNF .. The confusion is there is no official post on it which should of been done already. There was a working process already established.

So the first spawn that Sirken said goes to whoever was there first. In this case was Tephin and it did not go to him and yes he was there awake. If a GM is going to show up and enforce a new ruling, it needs to be made a rule for all to see on the forums.

There wasnt a blueprint for the path to pixeldom 20 years ago either, mobs like this could be found wandering the zone that had been up for hours, if not days--simply because of lack of informed players, thats obviously no longer the case. A good amount of p99's player-base are 'hardcore' neck-beard types with incredible pixel lust. There was a guy corpsing tranix crowns for like 4 months, by rule-lawyering 'camp' status at Tranix. So if you think that people arent going to always try and use loopholes and rule lawyer for mobs/camps like this, you're very naive... just look at the logs hermoine posted above, thats within 24 hours of a GM ruling on a mob that the players had otherwise already had an agreement to be FTE (yellow-text already included mind you)- which Sirken over-ruled, apparently?

Has Nil/rog made public what the rules are going to be moving forward yet? Its really weird to me, for the staff to always promote player-made diplomacy, then turn around and do something like this because of 1 instance, in an arguably fishy scenario, of 1 player who doesnt have the mental capacity to simply leave logs running to get a timer for the mob he needs and 'camp' it for the very short window and FTE for it like the 20+ people before him?

Whats the difference in Stormfeather and Lodizal? They are part of the same exact quest, located in the same zone, on the same spawn timer, both have FTE messages, etc... nobody is in an uproar over Lodi tho, which is REQUIRED to even be bothered to deal with stormfeather in the first place lol....

I think many people are missing the point that upon release of velious neither Lodizal nor Stormfeather had a FTE message. The FTE message was added because you had 20-30 people camping out on their spawn locations on reset trying to log back in first and get FTE. It was basically added for GM convenience so they didn't have to deal with KS issues every restart.

Instead of making life easier for them it backfired because now everyone with a Mackie mindset sees it as a reason to act like a baffoon.

I was in this exact situation over a month ago. Had tons of people stop by the hill and respect camp, then someone like Mackie showed up. Funny thing is, I was in Anonymous and they booted me even after I informed an officer that the GM's sided with me taking the stance that it was a camp. Glad I'm gone, these guys are flip floppers.

Grats Paul, glad to see someone genuine get rewarded. My experiences with anonymous have been pretty south as well (especially from Mackie and doublefists who act like kids). Albeit fugues tries to keep the peace, some of the others are projecting completely different values that potrey their guild. Those are just my experiences
