Great Divide Wurm caves

When a wurm passes through a wall to pursue it's agroed target it either goes under the world or on top of the cave on the mountain some where. The wurm is able to hit me, but I am unable to hit it.

Mage here.

My pet pursued it by warping to it after a several seconds. It killed the wurm but I was unable to find the corpse in the cave and on top of the cave.

Anyway to get the wurms to pop on top of the agro target (PC or PC pet) if this occurs?

On another note, in order to get my pet back after it warped I had to run all the way out of the cave and go up the mountain. It seemed to come from a direction, running back to me. It didn't warp back to me.
