Way to pull a card that can't be argued with. The least they could do is be consistent and professional in a way that AAA game companies are. Don't be a mindless drone that yells praz at the staff for fixing a problem that has existed for years.

It just feels to me that things are slowly changing and probably for the better. Just that they're doing it in the same manner they did before. Behind the scenes how ever they want with little to no structure for the public to see.

They want to clean up RnF a bit,. sure but they only did a few threads. they make posts and peoples threads disappear over night, which has happened on multiple occasions. That's not in my mind how to properly manage a community of fans. The staff should only have to post one time about something and that post should be sound, well thought out and address the issue in a professional and intelligent way.

I understand that how I've said all this people will misconstrue what I mean but one thing I can make clear is that I want to see consistent professionalism from all staff across the board. Certain staff have way too much leeway with how they choose to handle things and the people at the top support them. Even if the decisions are bias or whims/emotion.

Part of being professional is not making friends who are players.

I volunteered here because I got tired of the porn / hate speech / racial slurs spewed all over this forum for the last 6 years I've been here, so I volunteered and stepped up to do something about it. I didn't complain about it endlessly in RnF every single time I saw something I thought needed attention, instead I decided to be an adult and take action. The existing staff agreed with what I wanted to do, and here I am. The leadership here decided they wanted to take moderation a step further post Daybreak agreement, and I for one welcome the changes am happy to support it. Apparently the vocal minority does not though, but the majority do.

If a post doesnt belong here, we're going to remove it. Period. We don't need public opinion / approval to do so. We want the forums cleaned up. Thats really pretty cut and dry. There is no conspiracy behind it. Now, what about that is "behind the scenes"?

Frankly, others on the staff and myself are pretty tired of the constant moaning and whining about forum moderation (this is Rants and Flames - even I can rant here about your whining ;)). We need a genuine attitude toward excellent service, and respect for playerbase. People in CSR need to have a complete and genuine urge to want to help and serve others or it just screws everything up in colossal ways.

I agree, excellent service/respect is necessary for this server to thrive, but I will add that just like in real life, if the customer comes in all bent out of shape, the staff (especially if they are volunteers) are going to be less likely to want to help them. In my RL interactions when I've had a problem with some product or service, I've had much better results with employees when I, the customer, approach them respectfully instead of immediately flying off the handle at them. Almost always they are willing to bend over backward and help me out. It's just a fact of life. So it goes both ways, in my opinion.

I'm doing my best to be consistent man, I'm not perfect but what can ya do. I've received numerous PMs from different people about, about various threads not belonging in the various forums. I don't read every thread / post, so I welcome the PMs. This is their community to, so I will consider the suggestion if someone brings a thread / post to my attention.

If I move one thread from RnF to off-topic because its not at all related to P99, but the gif thread (that literally has nothing to do with P99 gameplay, regardless of its age) is allowed to stay indefinitely - I'll get people complaining to me that I'm being unfair and not being consistent in moderating, and I can see their point, can you blame them for being upset if I single their thread out for being off topic, yet let the gif thread remain?

I guess the difference as I see it is profanity. When I've used naughty words outside RnF I've received warnings and stuff. Sometimes, I want to use foul language in threads that have nothing to do with EQ.

Personally, nothing in this game is ever really gone inspire a rant or a flame from me, but this forum has often contained charged debates about various real world topics, too. i think its pretty obvious thats whats happened man. they told us for a fact that velious was pushed back as a show of good faith to DB because they have that progression server coming out. this is obviously pressure(or motivation from within) to look a bit more professional to the DB people. Been on the server roughly two years, and while it's not a huge sum of money, I haven't spent $360ish in subscription fees over the last two years. Classic EQ, which I'm sure we can all agree we love and are here for, for FREE. Show me a better fucking deal for entertainment of this nature. This fucking constant whining is what really is ruining these forums....think outside the box of porn/racism/the vast majority of Kaga posts which usually end in me wishing I had that much of my life back.
