Daybreak will probably be bankrupt soon enough and things can go back to normal. It doesn't take a genius to see that they played their hand because people would rather play here than their shitty prog server and they need the money. They (DB/SOE) haven't put out anything remotely enjoyable or fresh in over a decade. They are a complete laughing stock in the gaming world and it makes me sad to see this server bend the knee.

People here are upset because there was no warning. Instead of getting an update post saying heavy moderation was incoming and shit was going to change all we got was a bunch of confusion and LOLUMAD replies. irrelevant as elfsim addict feelings may be, the usual complete lack of professionalism on the part of staff is kind of at odds with the "clean up the forums" mission. Agreed that you shouldn't need to explain the reasoning behind changes....I think the point is that had some guidelines for change been published, at least people would have had the opportunity to correct themselves and it probably would have saved Eunomia (and potentially others) some time on the cleanup legwork they were doing.

I'm confused by this general sentiment. The staff has to walk on eggshells to make sure that all of you feel respected and dont get any hurt feelings, but the reason your feelings are hurt is because you can't post whatever offensive material you want that may show disrespect to others and hurt their feelings. Not a jab at you personally Swish, but just the RnF community in general.
If anyone is ever offended by a post in RnF they are quickly told "how the internet works", and that they need to grow up and quit crying. But take away the privilege to post offensive material and its all about respect and feelings. Quite hypocritical.

I'm not against change given the backdrop of what's going on, and I think everyone else understands why its happened...but this forum (RNF particularly) represented something you couldn't find in many other places, and that's something worth speaking up for...otherwise we're stuck with Epicemu style forums which were so sanitized they weren't worth visiting.

Personally I feel like an asshole for contesting the mods over the last few days...and it came out of just not knowing why the moderation was getting so heavy handed. For that I apologize, as I'm sure a few others do :p

RnF posts aren't counted in post count. I was teasing Nirgon, but never had any intention of taking away his crown. The PvP RnF posts were being counted previously, and weren't supposed to be. When that correction was made, it put me as highest post count. My posts are in the petition forum. You guys petition a lot.

No sarcasm man, in the past when there were times we felt the server was in danger or could be shut down under certain conditions, the player base as a whole did great at keeping things under wraps. Other than that, yea, we holler and jump around like a bunch of monkeys, but not during crucial times like these.

There was always exceptions to the above, though, and because of them yelling as opposed to watching and waiting, only they were seen or heard, giving everyone a stereotypical impression of ignorant fanaticism.

I'm confused by this general sentiment. The staff has to walk on eggshells to make sure that all of you feel respected and dont get any hurt feelings, but the reason your feelings are hurt is because you can't post whatever offensive material you want that may show disrespect to others and hurt their feelings. Not a jab at you personally Swish, but just the RnF community in general.
If anyone is ever offended by a post in RnF they are quickly told "how the internet works", and that they need to grow up and quit crying. But take away the privilege to post offensive material and its all about respect and feelings. Quite hypocritical.
