I apologize to all of Holocaust for having a hand in the changing of the guild name. And I apologize to those who wasted their time helping my character achieve gains only to be banned in the end. Namely Gradner, Casey, Sassa, Veemoda, Gnarly, Gzaz, Riding, Nirgon, Gyno, Wasp, Fred, Revy, Hona, Fandango, Dan.

I apologize to the red99 community. Though widely regarded as racist, sexist, griefy, greasy, evil etc. Is really full of some of the nicest people I've ever had the pleasure to quest with. My love of everquest has always been the complex social politics and interaction the game fields. Blue is full of people who would prefer to goto the DMV rather than a crazy party. Everquest should not be about waiting in line for 10 months or more for a chance at an epic, only to stand in a tunnel and do nothing with it. You will never get an epic on the first day of joining blue. You will never have as much fun on blue as I have on red.

I do not expect to get unbanned, and if it stands I plan to continue to have fun on red. Though, I may stop accepting loot, because I don't want to be known as a black hole where loot goes to die once I get banned again.

Look at that, a funny movie, loved by many including myself, where the main characters dress up as a Nazi and KKK member. A movie that routinely plays on cable without this scene edited out. I don't know whether the Holocaust guild name was this kind of joke from the beginning, but it certainly turned into one.

People from other guilds have continued to put pressure on the Holocaust guild name because they want to grief the top guild's members into having it changed. I'm sorry my actions finally allowed them to win a war they started only to make people mad. I doubt anybody who objected to the name was actually offended. And my screenshot was in part an answer and parody of their claim that we were some kind of racist white power guild. It should go without saying that that has never been the case.

If sirken, nilbog, rogean, aussie, eunomia, and other gm's can honestly say they have never told or laughed at a racist joke, sexist joke, or a joke mocking a tragedy, then I accept the ruling. But as that's basically impossible, I'm not too pleased with losing my little taunto, the almost epic'd warrior.

Can't really agree with this sentiment. All words are "just words". But they can be used to hurt and insult and tear people down. If the word Holocaust was meant in a general sense for the guild, maybe they should have taken specific references to nazis a little more seriously and cleaned up their ranks themselves.

Bottom line,there are many words that had been used for decades or even centuries without having a negative connotation, yet have been used as derogatory terms in recent history and labeled as unsuitable for general use. A little common sense goes a long way.

The sad thing about all of this is that even though your guild name had the approval of the lead GM, you still found a way to screw it up. You were such horrible people on a video game that the staff had no other choice but to finally step in and do something. That says something. It really does.

You need a more clearly law for this. In Germany all nazi-symbols and modified symbols are forbidden and can and will be punished with several years in jail. Some people here are much to obsessed of world war II by playing to many computer games with this theme here and they act like boys in a delayed puberty.
A problem is using them in protest against them like Jibeknn did. That is forbidden too there.
