Yeah, 2 years ago. He wrestled a tag team match against CM Punk, then 2 matches later, all commentary goes silent. After the next commercial, they explained what happened, and then went commentaryless for the rest of the episode.

He was fine a couple months later. He's not allowed to wrestle for WWE anymore, but he still takes the occasional indy appearance wrestling. He also had some more health issues in the last month or so, and has been temporarily replaced on commentary by Booker T. ((He did call Wrestlemania though.))

Yep. Booker retired, became temporary GM, then an announcer. Went into the WWE HoF year before last.

Right on man, was always a good showman.

It was such a scare, that it ended up turning Cole face. He had been continuing on the bit of feud that he and Lawler had had going for a couple years, but then when Lawler had the heart attack live on air, he was told to drop the gimmick, and ended up being better accepted by the fans as a result.
