CA is one of those places I have no desire to visit for some reason. If I'm going someplace, it will most likely be East.

Lived on the east coast. Lived in the breadbasket. Lived in the northwest - There is NOTHING like CA. YMMV.

Grew up around Mt. Rainer. Loved the area - hated the rain. You don't tan there, you rust.

I'm a Pacific NW fan myself. Love the rain, trees, mountains, and water.

edit: plus, we have excellent beer!

This sounds lovely

CA would be very nice if half the people there were to disappear, including all of their government. The geography is gorgeous.

Eh, it's not that great, and I can say that after having lived in Florida for 80% of my life.

Maybe you meant Northeast/New England...That's a whole different story...

Redefine that as northeast probably because Georgia and some of the other southern states are terrible in every way.

Bah, you can tan in the summer easily!

Only if you're outside for one full day, soo when are you going to farm me gear?

East coast is too cold and people are always on the verge of hysteria (tightly wound). Cape Hatteras also has crappy waves, and it's lame having to surf in a wet suit year round. Didn't like Long Island either. Fuck the Atlantic! The salmon isn't even very good in comparison to the Pacific.

I lived in Orange County (Laguna Niguel, and then Newport Beach) for years and loved it there. The rain in SoCal is more hardcore than Washington by far and kind of took me by surprise my first few months. Up here in Washington, there's a bit of a drizzle (not unlike an ocean mist, or a grass sprinkler system) that lasts for a day to a week and we call it rain. In SoCal (or anywhere in the southwest really) it comes down like flood weather for an hour or two and lets up. I also miss the empty blue skies, as that's a rare sight here in western Washington, even on a perfectly sunny day you see quite a few clouds. The only real bummers about California, are the women; the daddy's girls that spend every moment of their day on beauty (fashion and make-up) are acceptable, but the amount of fat and/or ugly women that are "driven" chasing some career absolutely shadowed everything else I saw - and that's all I really saw at concerts, colleges and raves (From San Diego, all the way up to Palmdale) Cops around Newport Beach need a special award for being jackasses, too.

Very much agree, Northern CA is especially beautiful. The state needs to change its name to The California Socialist Republic, which could be easily shortened to the CSR. This state is so up its own ass it's about to implode.

Took my 2 yrs old son and wife to San Diego and had a great time. Weather is perfect and good scenery.

Also went to "In n Out Burger" since some of my friends recommended, OMG! Best fast food burger ever!

I wish we have those in Houston :(

in L.A. area you can go to Disneyland (halloween time, great for kiddies), Medieval Times is great, Universal Studios is there but I didn't care for it (half the rides were down is most likely why), and if you wanna drive to San Diego the zoo is super nice. I don't know much else I fucking hate L.A. and want it to become Arizona Bay. :)

I did San Diego for a few years right after college - amazing place, but slowly I began to dislike the constant nice weather. I wanted thunderstorms, real rain, even snow - I even wanted a few days of hazy, hot and humid.

Eventually I broke and went back East - but I will always lust for In-N-Out...

I would love to live in San Diego. I'm the kind of person who always wants it to be Sunny, and if possible, 90 degrees. I live in Northern Florida though, so we have Georgia-like weather and get way too cold.

Hawaii would be a dream, though.

I lived in Hawaii for 4 years. I was nice at first, but then I got real tired of all the 80 degrees and sunny everyday type of weather. I sent my relatives pics of me surfing with a santa hat on Christmas Day. After a while you miss the seasons.

Plus, I missed being able to drive places. Sucks being trapped on a crowded island.

Oh, I don't get bored of 80 Degrees. Ever. That's Motorcycle ridin' weather.

Yeah, stuff does cost a ton on Hawaii apparently...I would also miss all the variety of being able to drive 200ish miles and go to Disney World, or to a nearby outlet mall...

Of course my wife refuses to live in California, so that's outta the question...
