The escalators in malls. Everyone knows what they are for right? to get you
where you are going faster - not just stand there.

You are supost to walk along with the motion of the moving escalator.
That was the original idea, now people stand there like idiots and waste time.

I can understand not taking extra effort to walk UP a escalator taking you to
a floor above. But walking down one is a FUKKEN breeze and people have grown
as obese as manatees with no forseeable future, deciding to stand there and wait for the floor to arrive at their feet. Best thing to do is to make your way
through the crowd, saying "Excuse me, comming through." doing it with the
original intention of the device in mind.

If you've ever been in a multi-story train station...you'd understand the importance of escalators. Time is the key.

What's worse.... those flat moving sidewalks in Airports! I hate it when people stand still on those. They make those so you can get down to your gate twice as fast, not so you can stand there like a moron blocking the entire walk. They finally made a "slower traffic keep right" sign, which helps a little.

I know it's hard to believe, but sometimes people have bags full of stuff they're carrying in shopping malls. So it's a little tougher to move with 75 pounds of clothes and hot dog on a stick corn dogs, it's a little hard to walk down a moving stairwell afraid you're going to fall down these solid titanium steps.

Most noted: people from one region making fun of people from other regions cause they do something different than they do.

"Everyone knows what they are for right? to get you

Who are you to tell escalators what they are for?! Perhaps different escalators exist for different purposes, some for speed and some for comfort! Kind of like cars and women!

Besides, if escalators existed to move people along at escalator speed + walk speed, wouldn't it be much simpler to just have the escalator move at that combined speed to begin with?

Well it sure would be harder to hop on and not die, if you're not like me.

Uhh, are you saying you are immune to the mangling effects of an escalator disaster? Or that you are so coordinated that you can't possibly get hurt? We've already discussed the problems of 'smoking weed in group', perhaps we need to have a thread to discuss the problem of 'smoking weed while posting.'

I love escalators because they can never break. They can always be used as stairs. There should never be an "escalator out of order" sign only a "escalator temporarily stairs" sign

I love escalators because they remove the only hurdle to walking around the mall completely fucking shit-faced drunk.

No more tripping up or down the stairs. I just walk between the rubber handles and stand there till it kicks me off. Hopefully at the food court.
