View Full Version : Blue server is filled with negativity

/rant
I have been playing on here for a couple months and have accumulated quite a few people on my friends list, but they act anything but friendly at times. When my /friends ask me how my weekend was, I reply with what I did. If you ask me, I will answer truthfully. I am, more often than not, met with negative responses :confused:. This negativity is appalling, so much so that I am considering leaving P99 completely to find a more welcoming community.
I am a closet nerd, married, a raver, bisexual, and a swinger. I am sure I am not the only one in this community either. I am a very loving person, and conduct myself inside and outside the game in this manner. We are preconditioned to divide ourselves with hatred; so why not give love and understanding a go?

Kimm, it's ok you are lost right now. One day you will find happiness, and I sincerely hope it is soon.

So how was your weekend and what did you do with your time?

Hi Cecily,
I haven't had the pleasure of talking with you, nice to meet you. My weekend was was great, how about yours?
I will PM you the specifics of my weekend as I feel this isn't an appropriate place for it.

How big of an ego do you have to have in order to make an "I'm quitting" thread?

If you don't like the community, just stop playing dude. Get the fuck over yourself.

I wouldn't call it negativity. No other place does one need to earn respect more than in this type of genre. This isn't all unicorns and rainbows. You're just pixels in some far away land until you prove otherwise, and even then, you still are to some. People aren't going to be all buddy buddy with pixels. It takes time and is best left to evolve on its own. All the friends I had in live I had after YEARS of playing together.

Regarding negativity, I disagree. In fact after the bullshit I've experienced on live, this place has been a breath of fresh air. Once you get people away from the cesspools, like EC, they are generally quite generous.

So people tell you their day sucked when you ask them or did they tell you to eat a dick?

Basically, this. I mean, having a conversation about your kids with Drugar Barrelchest, Alyssa Thepure and Kelghahar Darkheart can be a stretch sometimes.

Relax, have fun, form up a group and play regularly. Let the sharing of IRL things develop on their own. Until then it's simply awkward to most people. And don't expect everyone to be all, "Heeeeey Greg, so how's little Susie? Did the orgy go well this weekend?"

Pretty much get told to eat a dick. I am a very social and outgoing person, but so far it is met with unwarranted aggression. I remember the relationships I built in EverQuest years ago, now it just seems everyone is competing with one another and have zero interest in socializing.

if you were honestly an outgoing person you wouldn't be too hurt by people responding to you rudely. as an outgoing person myself, I tend to be able to brush that kind of negativity off with ease. Some people are just fucktards, and its best not to give them the time of day.

something isnt adding up. you just sound butt hurt.

also people didnt have an interested in socializing when this game came out they had an interest in killing dwagons! socialization was a fart joke in between that and nothing more. People play this game to play it or roleplay in it.

socialization was joking around because shit took too much time. im sure if things were quick and hastily gratifying in this game there would be no social aspect.

I share IRL stuff when inquired, I never talk about inappropriate things. Part of the fun of EverQuest to me was creating friendships with others and playing together. I have fond memories of doing this on live years ago. It is a completely different environment here, people seem genuinely mad all the time.

My initial assumption is that conversations are going something like this...

"Hey man, how's it going?"
"It's great, earlier I watched a dude bang my wife while I rubbed one out."
"Uh...gross. Bye."

Back on live, I was in a group in LGuk once in which, when I joined, the leader said,"Don't talk, just do your job. Stab shit." At first I was somewhat put off by this, but I thought what the hell. Let me tell you, for 3 hours we were machines. No one said a damn thing the whole time, other than a macro when the monk was incoming. That's it. I had never made so much XP and cash in a 3 hour sitting in long time up until that point. I thought I'd never enjoy a group like that, but I did. I got invited back three more times.

This is incorrect on so many levels. Maybe this holds true for you, but certainly not for me.
BTW I see you live on Pomona, whats up from Upland.

I would never give details about that lifestyle. Your attitude is toxic, you instantly draw to negative thoughts and project them.
It is more like..
"How was your weekend"
"Went to a rave it was pretty chill"
"LOL yeah right faggot what alt were you on"

Haha. See, I find that funny. I would have laughed. When you can fuck with people like that in an online game, that is a sign of virtual-friendship to me. I tell all my IRL friends that they would never understand the conversations I have with my online friends. The time I gave them an example, most of them gave me a shitty look and said they would have been offended. I just laughed.

That is a negative comment to you? I mean besides the perjorative, it seems like good natured ribbing among friends or co-workers. Emotion and tone doesn't translate well to text.

Where are the details? You built this scenario of some guy banging my wife while I watched (seriously wtf?).
I categorized myself with these labels in an attempt for you all to understand me better. Instead it is being judged and twisted in the most perverted sense.

you dont talk about innapropriate things but you just told us you are a bisexual swinger in the first fucking post... So if its ok to talk about whether or not you suck dick or keyster the pole, what is innapropriate talk to you?

As was said, your very first post already had way more information about your sex life than anybody cares about. I believe that it is a safe assumption that you are way too quick to toss out information about your lifestyle, it comes across in a bad way, and you receive negative responses due to that. My example was simply to illustrate that point.

I'm not judging you. I don't care enough to judge you. I care enough to take thirty seconds to make a post on a message board.
