I grew up in Iran, and even as one of the moderate (culturally if not politically) societies, I still encountered backwards bull shit everywhere. The stuff happening in the Middle East is inevitable: these tribal, backward fucks are poor, uneducated, and bigoted. They are going to revert to fighting on behalf of ther people group regardless.

Nonetheless, America (and hopefully someone else) has an obligation to stop wholesale genocide.

An interesting fact that I thought was weird was when the Yazidi tribes (some weird minority group who practice an ancient religion based on Zoroastrianism) were being targeted by ISIS recently and found themselves trapped in the mountains. US, the UK, and even France all moved quickly to evacuate them/airdrop supplies to them as well as hold ISIS fighters back with air strikes. Perhaps it had something to do with their blonde hair and blue eyes? ;)

This is way bigger than a left vs right issue, too. Anyone bringing up that kind of stuff in regards to this situation is part of the problem.
