Ice bucket challenge has raised a fuckton of money for a good cause. The water used each time is like the equivalent of flushing your toilet twice. It's negligible for the benefit even in California. Sure, maybe you think it's dumb and "They could just donate the money without this stupid fad," but the stupid fad has mass appeal that a lot of people are getting on board with.

And this is the close minded approach. The point of the videos is to get people talking. Its working. With an incredible increase in donations over the last month obviously it's working.
