Don't see no ice in about a dozen of these I've watched so far (from Bill Gates, the US Ryder Cup or whatever team, to people I subscribe to on YT)
People confirmed tipping warm water on themselves for likes and subscribes.
Has anyone on P99 done it yet? If so, post it up... and with ice cubes! ;)

I noticed you didn't mention ALS in your post.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is the progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death.
By the year 2025, one in every 25 American adults will be diagnosed with ALS, Parkinson’s, or Alzheimer’s. Experts agree that unless we declare war on ALS, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, these neurodegenerative diseases, as they are known, will become a global health crisis.
You've seen the ice bucket challenge videos how many times and have not yet gained the awareness they are trying to spread?

Next level tinfoil hat dot connecting: new, as-yet unpublished research shows strong correlation between experiencing temperature shock on your head (e.g. dumping ice water on it) and the development of ALS in later years. Shady scientists trying to create millions of cases of ALS so that it get more attention in a few decades and is finally "popular" enough of a disease to get on the priority to-cure list. Money is dumped into research, and few short years later, ALS is cured.

I was pretty cynical when these videos started popping up. Seems like a lot of people doing something dumb for some internet attention.
Even if this is true for the most part, there has been a THIRTY MILLION DOLLAR increase in donations in the last month for one of the scariest diseases out there. Keep it up and toss a couple bucks in at http://www.alsa.org if you're flush with cash.

Most people challenged dump water on their heads AND donate.

"Ice Bucket Donations Reach $53.3 Million

Ice bucket challenge has raised a fuckton of money for a good cause. The water used each time is like the equivalent of flushing your toilet twice. It's negligible for the benefit even in California. Sure, maybe you think it's dumb and "They could just donate the money without this stupid fad," but the stupid fad has mass appeal that a lot of people are getting on board with.
Assholes need to stop trying to out-cool and one-up the plebs that are doing good in the world so they can get their smug points.

It should NOT take the internet to get people inspired to donate money towards a way to help people who suffer from a terrible thing. It's such a cry for positive attention when people have to post videos of themselves or talk about how they did something in order to help other people by donating towards a solution or cure.
If people really cared, about other people who suffer they would donate money towards a solution\cure without looking for attention or telling others about it.

sadly a popular way to draw attention to debilitating diseases in the america is to have a means for people to insert their own ego for attention rather than just doing something because it is a good thing to do.

Who are you to tell them what they should spend their money on? I can guarantee it'll be spend on whatever they feel they need most. Alleviating suffering one way or another, it's well spent regardless what it goes to. You actually can't say that about "curing" cancer.

You've clearly never known an addict if you think giving them their fix is "alleviating suffering".
Don't know why you brought up cancer but there are already two proven cures (possibly more by now) for it anyway so either way you're wrong.

Do you feel better when you eat something? It's a pretty good analogy.
And I don't believe throwing money a medical condition is a reliable way to cure it. It's a special combination of money, time, new technology, and corporate greed that give us medical breakthroughs.

Don't know how to break this to you but heroin/crack/booze/etc are not requirements for life. Comparing drug addiction (a self imposed condition) to hunger not only is a terrible analogy, it's downright obnoxious.

And this is the close minded approach. The point of the videos is to get people talking. Its working. With an incredible increase in donations over the last month obviously it's working. If I told my friends I donated and showed a reciept would it drum up this kind of following? Now throw some water on yourself an donate some cash, challenge some friends and it starts to spread.
