We were both at the AC camp, and had camped it for about an hour or so. I had rights tot he camp, but he was helping me kill stuff to keep him busy and to help extradite the process.

Not trying to make this a sob story, but My dogs got into a fight upstairs, and I called the AFK and went to fix that. Came back to find the AC being killed by him and a mage friend. He had disbanded from the group and they formed their own.

It was probably my fault for going afk at all, even if my dogs were going to kill each other, but throwing the heads up to everyone that he killed it, looted and scooted when it was techincally my camp. May have been within the rules, but that doesn't always make it right.

And Jboots on a druid is an amazing item, especially for kiting. It's more of an oh shit item than anything else, and it's something I should have gotten awhile ago.

You went afk, mob spawned and he killed it. I fail to see how hes the bad guy in this. Pretty silly to try and ruin someones rep because your rl obligations made you afk.

I've also noticed recently the language and general behaviour on this forum has starting deteriorating (just check the Guild sub-forum). As a newbie on the server, but someone who intends on hanging around, it's a disheartening to see. Thankfully there are some mature and sensible people here. Here's hoping that if and when the time comes that guild-up, it will be with good people :)

It was my camp. Kizzik and Daliant had just finished and I was taking over and you swooped on in. You then proceeded to pull right away and didn't bother asking who's camp it was.

So yes, I'm very sorry that A) you didn't own the camp, and B) were away from your keyboard when the Ancient Cyclops spawned.

Today while trying to buy Darkforge Vambs in EC I saw someone selling Mith BP so I decided to under cut his price and resell it. He wanted 450 and I told him 375. He begged me over and over to just pay him 400 so he could buy this item he really wanted. I kept refusing and eventually he finally accepted and sold to me for 375.

Then I watched him walk away a bit and this gnome I had been sending tells to for the past 2 hours because he was AFK but had mentioned wanting to sell DF vambs earlier comes up and I quickly send him another tell asking about vambs.

"Just sold them for 200" he tells me... and I watch the Ogre put them on and walk away.

Personally, I've had many positive experiences with Treehopper. He's always making himself available for ports or CR help in exchange for nothing. I don't want to get into a fight over this. I talked to the dwarf cleric while we were on the same boat. I nabbed the camp, and we agreed it was mine. The cleric called first to engage, and I had first to engage rights on the camp.

You offered to join the group to help with the DPS. When you made the kill, you debated on looting it, paused, and said sorry, if you weren't afk...

Everything you did and said implied that the camp was mine. Please do not try and slander my name for something I did not do.

Fixing, well, clarifying this. The cleric said I was the only one who sent him a tell to claim the camp, but that he did not want to deal with it and the cleric said he would imagine whoever had first to engage rights on the mob would get the camp. It was then that you said "Damn, shouldn't have gone and gotten that seafury then."

Was just to clarify... I wish we had an editing button in RnF, although the drama wouldn't be half as good :p

Got to agree with the general opinion, if you afk, you risk losing the spawn. Sure, an excessively nice guy might have let you loot it. But for the most part you won't find people like that. It's another one of those "he didn't break any rules, but also didn't go out of his way to help someone" neither is worth tarnishing someones reputation. The best you can do is say "this guy isn't an overly generous guy", which most people would assume anyway, unless given evidence to support the contrary.

As far as being a druid who wants jboots... well... it's your time to waste :p

I mean hypothetically should he have sat there for hours and waited for you to return.

AFK Camping - I do not think it means, what apparently 99% of you think it means.

Mage/necro/enc/shaman afk pet killing = afk camping

killing a ph/named then going afk between pops = not afk camping

If i am not afk when the spawn that i killed repops, it is still and always has been my camp.

Except that clearly wasn't the case, based on Taluvill's own admission... You don't get to sit AFK at a camp w/ a spawn up indefinitely (regardless of what you think the AFK camping rule means).

i apologize if i wasn't clear, this is exactly my point. when the spawn actually repops, if you're afk the camp is up for grabs. However, I (for example) am allowed to drop Froglok Squire and stay hidden afk for 22 mins (right?) then drop him when repops without being contested - unless I am afk when he respawns.

There was a verbal agreement the camp was the OPs. That for me is a - take this treehopper dude w/ a grain of salt - sign. If someone's word is only good until I waste 2 minutes of their time while I afk for an emergency, then I don't want to deal with that person.

However, there still appears to be a significant difference of opinion between the parties as to who the camp belonged to.

Bottom line: OP is trying to ruin a someone's rep in a situation where /regardless/ of who the camp really belonged to, OP was AFK when the AC showed up and for some period of time after. We'll ignore that he's also a druid.

The OP was very nice about his flame. He wasn't trying to completely trash the guys rep. If what the OP said is correct and the guy weaseled his way into the group, knowing the OP had the camp, and then left group to join up with a friend to help him take the AC when it came, then this treehopper guy sounds pretty selfish. Maybe he did it within the rules, but thats what the OP said originally - he blamed himself and was just sharing his rant because it is still something that is going to piss someone off.

Maybe Treehopper messaged him and asked if he was coming back and we missed this part, maybe the OP is making stuff up, but if he is telling the truth then yeah TreeHopper kind of sucks in this situation.

With that said at least the OP is a druid and didn't have to waste the 350 pp on a stupid pointless item.

Not anything against OP, but in general. Unless you know the guy or talked it out previously, if you havent engage a mob like 15 seconds after it pops, its not your camp. Watching TV, doing the laundry? Too bad. People might say its selfish but if you dont do it that way then someone will always have an excuse about why he should be allowed to have claims on the camp while he was AFK.

Treehopper is one of the good guys, sorry you didn't get your drop but I don't think it is fair to call him out like this from something you admit was your fault for going afk.
