Sad to see them go, but they make several good points. P99 is a fucking mess right now. I can't really think of many things besides the actual game "code" that is classic.

Timeline extensions among other things have destroyed any semblance of a classic server and supplanted it with people who log in for 5 hours one day a week, spam javs and get loot (I wonder how many people doing this realize just how many players doing the same thing have come and gone before them). Those who don't log off farm epic MQs or or in endless alt-quest. Not healthy for the server and it's about time Nilbog addressed these things either with a new server or a way to balance things out.

Truthfully, it's really sad situation currently for guilds just starting out (and also those established, for different reasons).

You don't want to waste your time on EpicEmu regardless if you guys don't want to play here you are better off quitting.

Toop is obviously unstable, and unable to fix many of the issues on that server. His other gm's while imo cool people they simply will summon anything you want from wherever you want on their whim. You are going to see toons their that run around in full NTOV/Sleeper gear with crazy surnames that have never even raided.

Regardless of what has been tried to pass off there as "other" people took control of the server, no, Toop still runs it he is simply trying to hide that fact after his many debacles that ran everyone off that server.

It will be simply impossible to raid there with any type of notion that you will ever see end game. Firstly it was called The Sleeper Server and Sleeper's Tomb IS NOT EVEN IN GAME. Secondly the server cannot handle the numbers needed to raid any type of end game bosses, you will desynch, crash, lag, etc. Thirdly you will realize in time that damn near every boss mob is wrong: You won't be able to resist fear on anything, bosses will cast out of era nukes, did I mention you can't fucking resist fear on that server it's impossible. So have fun building strats around broken shit on boss mobs you can't even field the correct number of players on.

This isn't off the cuff shit to hate on that server. I lead BoW there, and really wanted it to work out, regardless of the bugs and shit we thought would eventually get fixed. You will realize as we did in time, they won't, because they don't know how, and you and however many players you bring there just fucking wasted masses amounts of time on ineptitude.

The answer is Red. You can level a new toon to 50 in a month playing very casually. Group exp is +290%. Economy needs help, but there are tons of mobs in Sky not being taken down.

GT, here is some reasons why I won't play on the Sleeper:


This is the 7th or something time he's restarted this server and completely wiped the tables
He basically slapped the old players in the face by deleting characters that PERSONALLY fed him spawn data, item data, and mechanics issues from 2010-2012
It's still buggy as shit, and is incredibly vulnerable to hacking I spent 4-hours warping around and ghost killing things with Faerie and Kegz IN THE SAME FUCKING ZONE AS ME
He's scrubbed the forums clean for the 100th time, so all that data, all that information about bugs and shit are completely gone and I doubt he did anything about them.
P99 is shit but at least I can be social here, the Sleeper is a walking corpse, where the only denizens are just ten mad cry baby fgts that will flock back to P99 once they wipe to Lodizal flurrying on the MT for 2k
I offered him $200 to bring back the old database and he refused, $200 he desperately needs for hardware because shit lags out so hard on random intervals you'd think it's just hosted on his home PC
So many quests are broke, soulfire, wheel of tarton, curscale armor quests; during 1.0 it literally took Kegz 6 months to get back to me about the Lich of Miragul not accepting the phylactery... Something that takes 15 seconds to fix in the PERL file.
There is probably more, but what I'm getting at it's a waste of time and you're better off making your own box.

GM’s and Guides will not accept ‘technicalities’ of the server rules. The rules are meant to give all players a fair and level playing field. Using any rule as leverage to benefit one’s own position while infringing on the playing experience of others is prohibited and suspend/ban-able.

Above the utmost known ideology of “do unto others,” all players shall adhere to a code of honor. Every individual player will be held accountable for their own words and actions, and the effect it may have on other players. Any actions deemed unethical, deceitful, in the spite of others, or violates the playing experience for other players will be met with strict consequences, suspensions, or account banning.

The Sleeper server is a mature based community. The use of racist remarks or any other form of verbal harassment will not be tolerated and will result in a formal warning, followed by account or suspensions or banning should the issue continue. Keep casual profanity to private tells and limit any “adult words” used in public channels. Remember: there’s a difference between cursing in general and cursing at another player.

Multi-boxing characters is NOT PERMITTED on the server, however a player may dual-box – playing only 2 clients per real life person. Any players caught multi-boxing will have an account randomly chosen, and suspended for 7 days. After 2 account suspensions, one of the offending accounts will then be deleted at random.

Any players with offensive character names will be re-named and/or suspended depending upon the severity of the offense. It is at the GM’s discretion to determine whether a name is considered offensive. Player names that have been deemed offensive may be appealed for review by petition.

Do not post, link, or copy any form of copyrighted materials, or discuss any methods of illegally obtaining any form of copyrighted materials.

The use of any type of program or script that gives any player an unfair advantage will result in permanent account banishment or character deletion. There is no leniency on cheating, regardless of the player or players involved.

Players will not commit to unethical advantages for personal gain or an unfair advancement of any players. The use of bugs and/or exploits will result in the de-leveling of ones character or permanent account banning depending on the severity of the exploit. You get past the PR slant BDA has pushed towards dolj for being competitive and you got a guild filled with lvl 60 raiders who want to do their own thing.

I guarantee if lord bob gets just a little bit bigger then will dominate the class R bracket and everyone who joins will get more loot than they could use.

If I was a lvl 60 in Asgard or Azure Guard and I wanted to see more content or gear up characters, I'd join Lord Bob in a heartbeat.

I've said it before if you're in BDA longer than 3 months at lvl 60 then you are a lifer.

I bet BDA has the highest turn around of members on the server they mass recruit anyone and once they hit 60 join a real guild.

Nah I'd say the most new players to the server that join and get 60 just stop playing. A few go on to TMO/IB but not many.

Getting to 60/getting your epic is usually the motivation most people have playing classic EQ, once that is done they disappear. I'm sure a lot will be back for Velious though.
