To me, they made the show. Not sure if I'd watch another season of it without them.

I'm pretty sure Nicky P screwed himself over with season 1. He build up the first couple episodes as this great Twin Peaks-esque mystery of supernatural forces and good and evil colliding on earth and everybody was so fucking stoked about it and then the last couple episodes it was just like, naw man it's just a dude, and everybody was so the opposite of blown away. I have no doubt he lost a huge chunk of his audience for season 2 from that. Meanwhile, Woody and Matt were so fucking solid, whoever winds up taking the lead in Season 2 (I heard it was likely going to be Jessica Chastain) reaaaally has their work cut out for them. The Onion did a tremendously on-point article the day before the finale aired about just how much everyone was going to be disappointed and how the show would never reach the fandom it had started out with as a result:
