That is not how the system works. And I wrongly avoided treatment for 5 yrs because i was afraid it worked like you thought and there were plenty people more deserving "in line head of me". There is plenty of time allotted and like I said. All veterans earn their benifits, none are greater or worse then the others. Higher priority cases do get seen quicker than me, I have had to wait months and months now. I'm not getting rushed ahead of PTSD suffering suicidal amputees. There aren't even that many in this area.

If you don't think I earned it your "entitled" to your opinion. But your attitude that we should just kill all the people who disagree with us shows your not the kind of person I really care to have a dialogue with anyway. Like I said, we all earned what we have. I'm not eating up $200,000 in treatment for what I earned. I'm using up what I put into the system when I served. That guy (or gal for that matter) is getting what they earned as well and a much bigger portion of the chunk. If you read in the newspaper about the mismanagement in the VA system it's not about cases like mine. Go read the articles about Albuquerque, NM. The small hospital there was understaffed. Not because of people like me but because the system wasn't well planned and the staff there didn't appropriate the resources they need.

But if you don't think I earned to pay out of pocket 15$ a month for hormones, and get a 200$ blood test every 6 months after serving for 4 years honorably making under 20,000 a year net.

It's considered a job benefit. And if they had payed me 50,000 a year to do what I was doing when I served then I would be better off now and able to afford this on my own perhaps.

But they don't. They save money by communally creating this. And they do a good job with it. VA care is pretty good despite the bad press like I said. If anything the money the military saved for when I served, probably went to pay for 10 of those horrible traumatic cases. Because I was a good soldier. I did a damn fine job. I worked along side civilians who made 3 digits for nothing. I did their job for them. They came to me for help. If it weren't for a bunch of ungrateful assholes like you, there'd be more excellent upstanding people still pouring their life and souls into this country and military.

I could have said fuck it and done a ton of different things. But I put my heart and soul into serving and I made a deal with uncle sam. Seriously. Yes it's voulentary. But it is a bigger thing then I will just "be a slave". It's better than being a blackwater or academi merc. It is a sacrifice. And everyone who serves deserves respect and good treatment for their service. Especially those enlisted. Who really get shafted every fucking day.

I don't know how to explain this any better. People voulentarily serving in the military are still giving their time away at a loss. The military is a group. It is not a 1 person job. Everything you do and put into while your in the military goes into the group.

The VA is part of this system for those who honorably serve to give back a little bit of that. If we ran the military VA like you and mr nihilist wants. Then everyone would be responsible for their own care 100% and no wounded war veterans would get taken care of. No one would give a shit about those people. I'm not denying anyone else care. I asked this and had it explained to me before I even elected to pursue this with the VA. Everyone who serves earns it.

There is more to hormons then outer beuty. There is more to beuty than what you think. There is inner peace and comfort. And people who can't/wont/are unable to attain that never attain true inner beuty. I don't have to be a supermodal madona. But I do want peace. I am comforted when I see my face in the mirror with that wig and makeup. The hair growing from my breasts since my early 20's really creeps me out. These are small easy things to fix so that I am happy. And I am working on fixing them. I'm not asking them to be fixed for me. And as I stated before. I did my damndest to earn this. It's probably a very overly broad generalization, but lack of energy, hot flashes, mood swings, brain fog, dizziness, nausea, a lot of weird symptoms I've had for a long time that mirror what people coming on and off hormones go through.

Maybe the endocrinologist will have better insight.

The only thing antidepressants do is stabilize the degree of the mood swings and lower anxiety. But they don't alleviate the depression/feelings of hopelessness that I (use to everyday) get from having/feeling like I had no way to do anything about my body/sense of self/self worth/lack of understanding of what was going on with me. The only thing that has helped there has been to come out and start facing the issues that I was terrified of. Did not understand. Hated myself over.

I have worked on several diets, everything from atkins, to juicing home grown vegtables. I take magnesium, vitaman D, b12. I try not to overload on sugar. Drink plenty of water. And excersice when I can. It doesn't make much of a difference in my overall energy or the weird hot flashes, migraines, and other symptoms I get.

I had been taking a supplement for awhile that had a plant based estrogen (phytoestrogen). and that helped a bit.

When I went on sertraline I was getting the symptoms really bad, but they seem to have stabilized again. It's hard to say what causes me to feel... sick.

All my labs always come back good on everything, except bilirubin, which is due to Gilbert's syndrome.

As a kid I had a lot of unknown sickness that wasn't related to infections or anything the doctors could pin down. I don't live in the hospital 24/7 and I can go a year or more without having medical issues or anything. Just a lot of wierd un-explained shit that comes and goes.

No, generally it's 3 months of mandatory therapy before they write you a letter of recommendation. Without that letter, no doctor is gonna write you hormones. Every place is different, according to WPATH that's usually the deal. Or, you can dangerously self medicate and buy them online.. A ton of people do that.
