View Full Version : You are all pathetic

I have spent many nights fighting with many of you but in the end only one thing is true, you are desperate for xp and nothing else matters. No matter how boring, or how pointless, the camp may be... you are happy to sit there if you gain xp.
I have spent my nights searching for people who would like a little excitement in their lives, and so far I have found none. Everyone wants to sit in the one spot killing the same mobs over and over, and for what?? Just so you can reach level 50?? That is a pathetic goal when the game provides so much excitement if you are only will to risk it.
Very rarely I have managed to temp a few a you away from your safe camps but what do I find??... one death and you disappear no longer online... that is nothing but cowardice.
Are you all so self obsessed that lvl 50 is all that you care about?

Server Chat != Rants and Flames
Also, the game is all about perving out on the she-males and making them reroll male characters to stop the abuse.

And, if that's what they're into, how is it any less valid than your style of play. I'm not saying I disagree on all fronts. I prefer not to plop down and grind all the time myself. On live, I was one of the first in my own little community to do a lot of things. People told me I was nuts over and over for solo'ing my paladin in certain places (Kedge runs for a ground spawn make your heart beat faster, LOL). Even so, I don't begrudge the grinders. If racing to 50 rocks their world, so be it. I'll still be in my 20's doing my thing and they don't bother me in the least.
...or was this post simply to incite a flame war?

This is not a rant or a flame, it is a serious comment on how people insist on playing this game. More XP does not mean more fun, but perhaps I didn't make that clear.

More xp doesn't mean more fun to you or me but maybe to someone else it does. Not everyone plays the same way for the same reason.

My post was just intended to point out that there is more to this game than XP, much more, in fact if gaining XP is all that you care about then you have missed the best parts of EverQuest.

Too bad you address your bitter comments to ALL of us. As others have pointed out, not all players play for the same reasons or find joy from the same things. I've grouped with someone who got furious because he missed out on one kill in Guk (the group broke up and it was a challenge to reassemble it while fighting). Most people I group with are not like this. I am certainly not like this. Deaths happen, XP loss happens.. It's all part of the game and it doesn't bother me. I'm not in a race for 50 by any measure. I'm too busy enjoying the zones which I blew past on live (when I was much more focused on hitting 50 etc).
I'd suggest in the future that you not be so broad and overreaching when making such bitter statements. It only generates bad feelings and makes you seem immature (which I am sure you're not)

I'm not all that into xp'ing anymore, and my highest level character is 20. But others are all about getting to max level asap, and more power to them.
Do what you enjoy, imo. The different play styles is one thing that makes EQ great.

I'm all for exploring the lesser used dungeons on the server, it's just that I rarely have much time to play. I usually have to just go where the people are.

Or not? News flash ass, different people get enjoyment from different things. Keep trying to force people to do things that are only fun for you and then whine about how they refuse.

I agree with you but:
repeat deaths means a lot of time doing basically nothing fun at all. Either doing a corpse run, or waiting for a boat, port or a rez.
The higher level you are, the more likely you are to survive these crazy adventures and dungeon crawls, or whatever it is you are referring to. Also, this server has been live for 10 months now, so many people have already done their exploring and are leveling up alts.
Or in some cases people are trying to catch up in levels to their friends who have been playing longer. Some people are only here to experience classic raiding which they missed out on back on live (not going to break their hearts in this thread). In fact this probably goes for a lot of people.
The game isn't new so exploring an area that you've already been to isn't exactly new... even if it's been 7+ years since the last time you were there. If there was custom content then maybe there would be a point to it but that's not what this server is about. You're basically not going to find anything anywhere in this game that you didn't already know was there... unless it's a bug.
Honestly there are many explanations as to why some people do what they do. SO yes, I agree that the level grind is boring but you have to put yourself in their shoes instead of assuming you know everything about these people.

Congrats to the moderators, this thread got moved in the time it took me to clean my teeth. But I insist it wasn't a flame, perhaps the title was a bit inflammatory but at least it got your attention as I suppose I intended.
So we all go back to camping the royals... don't fall asleep everyone!

Lol what a scrub.
Instead of being a vague whiner, why dont you go ahead and list off all of these elite feats and adventures that only YOU are wanting to do on this server. Name one camp that doesn't get farmed daily, one zone without a group in it daily, or ANYTHING to back up your absurdly retarded claim.

No response for any of the points any else has made? If you were not here for a discussion then it was indeed a rant/flame all along.

It's all well and good being bored of the grind etc etc. But people have differing circumstances. If i have 2 hours to play, i can't really afford to gather 5 other people to go on a risky suicide group run because it takes too much time.
I'll just go to the place with the most people and hopefully find a group or duo or something.
Just imagine how many people will reroll come kunark, there'll be so many newer toons ( as well as returning players ) so you'll have plenty of people to adventure with in "unknown" lands :D

I'm about 100% sure I know who the OP is in the game.
Sometimes I like to explore or just have non-levelling related fun, but I prefer to do that alone. I don't judge other people's idea of fun. Unless they like WoW.

Couldn't agree more. Thats why i solo more than group. Camp humping gets old fast. Eq back in the day for me was about the exploration. Fighting new and fucked up shit to kill/die to.

Sometimes people need a little prod to consider playing outside the box, in the end that is all I was trying to do and perhaps it succeeded a little, if the responses are anything to go by. Do what you will, I will too and maybe you will join me. There is little to loose and a lot to gain.

@ the OP:
I see where you're coming from, but at least consider that many of us did not miss out on the quest/exploration aspect of EQ the first time around. I'm positive that when I say the "game begins for me at level 50" someone will retort "What game?! Poopsocking?!". However, no.
We cruised 1-50 in 11 days played solely to begin farming/gearing to build up a bank account and our mana pools to handle soloing in Kunark.

Yes I have played the game.....and again my question is why do you need someone to hold you hand?
I didn't say i was gunna go solo my dwarf cleric thru the game to 50.
He said EXPLORE. Why do you need 2 people?
