Colaboration in Icewall

I casted collaboration to an npc in icewall and I got attacked/almost killed by the front gate guards. I don't think it's supposed to be like that?

This was posted 11-21-2002. I thought I used this spell in velious and it worked, not 100% sure in icewall but the spell is not supposed to get resisted. Which one wins here unresistable spell vs 100% magic immune? I couldn't cast this in kael either last time I was on the beta server, I'll try it again later while someone has agro on a giant and I'll cast right under it.
