Sericx and boyfriends, douchebags that enjoy training people

I decided to check out Paw since I never had much experience there, just to see if I could solo the zone trash since the spires outside were camped at the time. So I move a little ways in and send my pet to attack a pair of blue con gnolls that are in the way.

All of the sudden a red con monk (I was level 33) runs over and just KSes both of them, doesn't say anything and runs off. I thought "okay, that was pretty dickish." Nothing was said between either of us, so I decided I'd just move farther in and see if there's an area I might be able to solo at, I had heard something about snakes earlier. I go a little ways in and a mob spawns almost right on top of me, so of course it aggros, not much I can do about that.

Then this monk Sericx runs over again and KSes it, (I don't really care so much about that part as I didn't intend to pull it in the first place). Then he says "ever heard of the word... camped?" I found this rude since he hadn't said anything prior, so I replied "Ever hear they block the fucking way in prick."

At this point he was already running off passed me, so I figured it didn't matter to much since I'd probably just leave soon if I couldn't find a decent spot to mess around at, but within 15 seconds he drags about 5 gnolls and feigns them at my feet, training the crap out of me and killing me in the process.

After zoning into my bind point I send him a tell saying "So now you're going to train me, so I can't even enter the zone, what the hell is wrong with you? I've been in the zone for like 3 minutes just to check it out and you just start training? That's fucked up." No reply.

So I zone in, invis up, and drag my corpse and loot it, then go over to the area where he's pulling them. There are 3 people there; him, some 50 shaman named Klima, and some asshole they're apparently powerleveling named Catac. I say "Nice to know who the douchebags on this server are."

Sericx then sends me a tell saying "shut up noob... you don't have the faintest clue about this server" and then we have a back and forth that was mostly just garbage and him trying to justify his position by saying something about how I should have called a camp check, since I guess not calling a camp check means you should get the shit trained out of you when you've barely even entered the zone.

I've only been playing on this server for a little over a week, and my mage is my only real character so far, but if this is the kind of mentality that players on this server have, then this is probably one of the only games where the community is essentially the worst of WoW's community concentrated in one spot. I'm hoping this is not the case, but so far I have not seen different. I played on live for 5 years and was rarely ever intentionally trained because people actually gave a shit about their reputations.

Asshole monk named Sericx trains the shit out of me on purpose for no reason after I was in Splitpaw for less than 5 minutes while he's powerleveling his dickholder Catac with his boyfriend Klima.

You make a good point but present day MMO's instill a level of acceptable asshole behavior. I myself over the years have become increasingly aggressive and easily irritated due to the shit one must endure in game. The outcome is a negative personality where I often do shit I regret.

It's like fundamental attribution error. You're at a stop light and the road is icy. Some other car tries to stop when the light turns yellow but instead slides through the intersection.

You think to yourself "What a fucking dickhead. Guy shouldn't be allowed to drive." But when you come to the next intersection you yourself slide through the intersection when you try to stop, but you think "Oh shit. Someone needs to get out here and salt / plow these roads. It's dangerous!"

One bad apple invokes a level of distrust for other people depending on certain scenarios. It's not right. But it does happen. Myself Included.

At this point he had already KSed three mobs from me without saying anything then made a rude comment. Sorry, I was a little annoyed by that point. I don't see how any of this suddenly makes it alright for someone to intentionally train me and cause my death. Because what, he thought I had stolen a couple of mobs from him when I was barely even into the zone?

i just generally avoid assholes and dont respond to them or keep "feeding" them so to speak and i have never been trained or harassed on this server. You can tell when someone if going to be a jerk real quick and at that point you should either drop it and leave them be or go down to their lvl and be a jerk too but then you get into a jerk off....and FD classes usually win a jerk off

I don't condone what he did. I've been in several groups where a solo caster does some jerk move and folks in my group are yelling for blood, "We should train that fucker." I'm always the voice of reason saying, no, let's not do that.

I'm just saying if you had been kind and courteous, you probably wouldn't have been trained at all. A simple, "I'm sorry, which mobs are you camping?" would suffice. Hell you don't even have to apologize.

If you didn't give him attitude when you talked to him, you probably wouldn't have been trained. Responding calmly would have calmed him down too. I'm not saying its right, but thats how it is.

So someone KSes 3 of the mobs I engaged without saying anything (and I have the communication problem), is outright rude to me, but I'm not able to be rude in kind even though I hadn't done anything wrong? And replying with one prick comment when I was essentially being harassed, while I was engaged in combat, means I "deserve worse" than being trained? And the guy being a rude, KSing trainer deserves to be cheered?

This is the first time I've been rude to anyone in 33 levels. I usually concede camps to people when they ask and would have gladly left if any of them had said anything because I don't believe in any kind of camp stealing shenanigans, and would rather not fuck anyone over, yet I'm a rude prick who deserves to get the shit trained out of him. Nice.

I don't know if I can explain this any more clearly. He KSed 3 mobs I had engaged (one I didn't even engage on purpose), made a rude comment, and then immediately proceeded to gather mobs to train me, without my comment having even been said yet. He likely wasn't even in range to have heard it because I typed it in /say, by the point I had hit enter he was already on his way to me with mobs.

So to sum it up, he KSed 3 mobs, made a rude comment and then trained me before I had even got a chance to fully type my reply. I quoted it in my original post exactly as I had typed it in game "Ever hear they block the fucking way in prick."

If I had time I would have atleast corrected the grammar in it. But I was in combat with a spawned mob and he was already pulling mobs to train me with. My reply was delayed because I had to move out of melee range so my pet could tank the mob. He was already grabbing mobs to train me, I had not said anything at this point.

A lot of people on the forums -especially in R&F - will just troll you.

Most of the people in-game are helpful. Don't sit in EC too long, it's not indicative of the server population, and don't let the random bad encounter keep you from playing. Heck...the same dude that trains you might give away 100p to a new player the same day.

The biggest problem on the server is overcrowding combined with everyone PLing in the same areas people want to xp in. Wait till you hit 50 and wanna raid, lol.

It's a pain right now, but it'll get better...for everyone.

I'm not agreeing with the training, but I dont think you have as big of an issue as you may think. Hopefully you wont let this bad experience ruin the server for you. The fact is that the monk in question FD-trained him, which was obviously not warranted, even if the OP wasn't as polite as he could have been. I mean this is a PvE server, killing another player is the most egregious crime you can commit. The OP deserves to be ridiculed, sure, but Sericx deserves to be banned.

I'm going to echo everyone else's notion that you could have been more courteous.

That being said - occasionally you find dickheads like this. Just find solace in the fact that people like this generally continue to act like this and eventually find themselves having a reputation. There are more than a few people on this server that have dung themselves into holes only to have it come back and bite them in the ass later on.

I'd say just let the issue die and know that you got his name out there. If he continues to act this way, eventually it'll come back around on him. It's karma man. On that same note however, it works the other way as well. I can't even count the number of people who I've heard good things about or have done me a good turn and I return the favor by hooking them up with free ports or rezzes - or try to get them in groups. A lot of people on this server do have long memories and will treat people based on past good/bad experiences.

Don't feel bad you are not the first (or last I am sure) person to be trained by Sericx. I was grouped with him in a window group a month or so back. He was pulling BnB mobs through royals and on death beetle pull it "attacked" the royals group and they were forced to defend themselves. If it actually agro'd or not I have no idea but the response from Sericx was to train their group. This was never said by Sericx in group chat but one of the Royal's Group members came to window to complain and prior to that during pulls he paused to say "let me go check on royals to see if they need any more LDCs, oh they are not there anymore". Another fun fact -The group consisted of a few members of his own guild at the time -Europa- which he left while grouped at windows.
