It's Veteran's Day, the day we take the time to turn on AMC and watch Band of Brothers. Even though you can't remember those scenes from the first time you watched it. And it takes you 90 mins to realize you weren't watching Band of Brothers, but some crappy military lawyer drama, Hart's War.

Because this guy

wears the same fucking hat in everything he does.

Dammit.

I'm sure they all appreciate that you made a thread on an Elf simulator forum to thank them.

Many of us served with the intention of stopping bullshit like what is depicted in the above troll. You can thank the people who still give a shit.

Intentions mean absolutely nothing. By being a cog in the machine, even with the best intentions, you're responsible for child killing.

Good men and woman who stand by and do nothing are as evil as those that are doing evil.

Are you seriously going to criticize people who did fulfill their duty honorably. Learned about the military. And saved lives regardless of the situation, or the rightness and wrongness of war?

It's much like the elves in LoTR. They could have just got on their ships and gone home. But no. They went to helms deep. Regardless. And did their damnedest to uphold their values and allegiances.

Fact: Most people in the US military don't join out of any sense of duty or altruism. They do it for a handout.

And the rest just want to hurt some brown people.

Can you join the military for the handout AND the chance to hurt brown people?

Blame the institution less and the people more.

Thanks Gyno. Whether people go in with or without good intentions. I saw a lot of fucking good people in the Army. Doing their damnedest to not fuck up to bad.

Good thing you don't have any income with which to pay taxes, otherwise you'd be a cog too.
