TMO doesn't sock, except when they actually do sock, OR when they track mobs for over 96 hours consecutively while waiting next to their computers all hours of the day so they can log in a fully buffed character that is already parked at the target BUT that's not socking it's actually skill. Anyone refusing to play by those tactics just can't handle competition and your worth in life is directly correlated to the number of raid targets you get.

A cleric with a donal's BP and a defensive warrior could probably hold VS for a good 2-3 minutes. Even an SK, paladin, or monk could potentially hold VS for at least 60 seconds if the Melee is buffed adequately and the cleric isn't a donk.

I think your having difficulties understanding certain basic concepts.

You mention 95+ hours of tracking per week, but, in fact, most people in TMO will never do 95 hours of tracking in a year, or even two years. Now, some people are cray cray, and carry more of the load. Thats fine with me, i appreciate the work, and they get rewarded for it. Often they burn out too :(

However, the concept should be easy. Its kinda like fireguard in the Army. One or two people take turns doing an hour a night, so that the entire group as a whole can be rested and relaxed.

So having one person on tracking duty is not the equivalent of poop socking. An entire guild of 100 or so odd people can go about their lives without clicking track over and over for 95 hours a week or whatever you say we do.

So, in short: if you want to spend less time raiding and more time doing what you want do do, but still get 10x the pixels, then TMO is for you. If you want to sit on spawns for hours.... more power to you.

Or as a third option, you could go join chest and develop an unrivaled degree of bitterness in the process of casually playing a game.

There is a HUGE difference between 10 people logged in for 96+ hours and 2 people logged in for 96+ hours. Math doesn't lie. I do think it is hilarious that a guild that has merged numerous times, raided with 60+ people, and has been farming the same content non-stop for 2 years to the detriment of everyone else on the server is complaining when someone else utilizes a tactic they don't like. As people have mentioned else where, DA, which at least on P99 is the raiding successor of TMO (if I remember right TMO literally didn't have a single kill on the server before merging with DA/Ascension/Fusion) was the guild that popularized poopsocking as a tactic. You guys used poopsocking to get where you are now and "drive IB off the server".. but now it is a lame tactic.

Gil spouting off irrelevant "facts" and even inaccurate "facts" is beyond stupid. Since the inception of this emu, guilds have been merging and absorbing other guilds. It's pointless to act like it's any different when TMO did so with DA, when before them DA absorbed 3/4 of Wrathful Inquisition while IB absorbed the other quarter. When that wasn't enough, they (IB) tried to absorb even more guilds (Transcendence). And this was still happening (albeit on a smaller scale) beforehand, pre-Sky. Shit is classic. Obviously these guilds' forces were bolstered and probably directly lead to more successful raids, hence the reason for doing so in the first place. Just how it plays out and the majority of any successful raiding guild on this server has been apart of it to some extent.

If you wanted to track with a couple people down there for multiple hours than good on you. I wasn't saying it as a negative against TMO, simply that it is ridiculous for one guild to claim certain tactics aren't legit when they themselves have contributed to the furthering of ridiculous tactics on this server. Trans/IB did it, DA/IB did it, Ascension/Fusion/TMO/TR all did it too. My point was that for TMO to claim poopsocking is some how worse than things they have done in the past is laughable since all tactics used on this server are just varying degrees of the same thing.

I curious which of my facts were inaccurate. I didn't say that TMO started poopsocking, I said that their spiritual predecessor in raiding did (DA).
