Saw High on Fire a couple years back in Austin, TX with Baronness and Opeth. Matt Pike is a great guitarist but frankly I think they suck balls in general. Especially compared to Opeth.

Hey, I love me some Electric Wizard too. Who doesn't love stoner-doom metal with H.P. Lovecraft references? But they aren't even in the same ballpark as Opeth. But taste is taste.

I listen to a wide variety of metal ranging from the Scorpions to Judas Priest to Emperor/Mayhem/Immortal to Blind Guardian to Kvelertak/Carpathian Forest/Nattefrost to my favorite absolute metal band ever Moonsorrow.

Nu-metal is all flavors is garbage.

Depends what ballpark you're talking about, they're two completely different sounding bands with their own following. If I were to say which of these two bands has a stronger following, probably Opeth cause it's more accessible and not a whole lot of people really dive into the whole stoner/sludge metal scene

but if I were to compare these bands on some pure heaviness/density (I.E Daaamn they're heavy as balls!) factor Electric Wizard smokes Opeth like some left over roach weed
