This seems about right, although there is a little more. People in Dentists assumed they were better than the average Azrael and for this were more deserving than the average Azrael for gear/loot. This rubbed a lot of Azrael wrong. This same exact behavior happened in reverse when Force and Azrael tried to team up with Azrael feeling more 'owed."

There had been such a long loot drought that people succumbed to pixel frenzy and each side felt that no loot would be coming in if their 'crew' wasnt involved and they felt unjustly entitled to a large share of the bounty b/c of this fact.

It takes an adept leadership to merge factions to fight a war and the maladroit fumblings and poor navigation of past mergers have basically just irritated each faction.

EverQuest, gear matters, you can defect from the resistance and join Nihilum, raid for 3 months and start acquiring loot and purchase rot loots from the company store for a good price. Or you can grind the shit out of Fungi/Hiero/RBG etc and purchase same items on the open market for a lot more.

The constant argument that one path is 'bluer' than the other is stupid. Both guilds do the same amount of PVE. It's not a measurement of which guild PVEs more it's a measurement of whether or not people want to be the underdog or join the team with the upper hand.

I wasn't on the server for Red Dawn, during Full Retard i was in Nihilum. I spent 5 months in Azrael. I skipped Classic and i chose not to rejoin Azrael.

Who are the common denominators? What i see is a fluctuating crew, only a few that keep at it and i dont find the few that keep at it to be anywhere near the more offensive end of the continuum of that roster.

Yet time and time again you say how many of the people in Nihilum you cannot stand personally. My point is that i find your love for the underdog being only outweighted by your abhorrence for the players on the current underdog roster a bit unbelievable.

I understand the funnier narrative is the one you want to push forward, even though Lite vehemently disliked you as did a fair number in the guild since you QQ'ed at every turn of the guild over retarded things and created drama for absolutely no reason, such as "leaving people's bodies" in sky. I was nihilum from early server until the dark days of sub 20 pop. I only acquired a a mistwalker and planar gear. I was one of the most active pvpers. Had a falling out after playing loz came back to server and was a part of the dentist revolution that eventually showed azrael crew its first kunark dragon but 85% of dentists couldnt stand lite with his teamspeak priority speaker status making bad calls and sky dkp cry babies. Dentists quit or joined nihilum.

I quit then came back with the heresy revolution which was crushed by t99 announcement.

Then I rejoined Azrael after bashing them throughout the entire timeline of forum (lite sucks but always gave him respect that hes good at babying and moving things along hes a nice guy).

Been talking to HB and HPT almost my entite stay in Azrael wishing I could just go rogue battle cleric but didnt want to be forced to solo or quit.

This was the biggest issue. You didn't miss one raid, you missed like 3 weeks worth of shit at the height of which we were contesting at the time. You would login your warrior and sit somewhere else while LITE begged you to come join, and you continued to cry on the forums for like another entire month how your Sky DKP from Azrael wasn't being utilized to it's fullest and you felt shafted.

No one quit and ran to LoZ, we all quit when the server reset 3 times within 2 weeks and we then realized we couldn't beat the man who controlled the switch, coupled along with the fact I was tired of trying to make everyone a cohesive unit and get mobilized to fight, while the Sickpuppys/Sealers/Brainz crew remained in Seb farming their 10th and 11th Fungis while me and Colgate were out doing work with the rest of the newly formed crew.

HB had it right in his list, it was those exact people who would sit in Seb on their fully decked out 60s (2 mage epics at the time lol) while we are fighting 20vs 20 in KC or setting up before spawns to get a preemptive advantage over Nihilum. Shit was demoralizing to the rest of the guild, and if we did win they would mysteriously show up and want to utilize their (Sky DKP for a year) for anything we had just obtained.

You don't even know me, The only times you have spoken to me were times you thought I were Agatha, I have traded with you once. You don't even know me well enough to say this about me. I don't troll nihilum in game or actively talk to any of its members for shits and giggles or boredom. I played on VZTZ, I didn't even start here until like last feb or so. The only person I really knew upon joining this server that stood out immediately was your name, Because when I returned agatha had returned a month prior to me and I remember him talking about the manastone thing.

Only a handful of people on this server even know me, Fewer so even know the real me.

Okay so I'll bite for a second and stop trolling.

The bottom line with Red99 boils down to a few major key points:

First, the population is exceedingly small. This does not allow for a variety of guild choices, player style choices, or even friendships. I know for a fact that the way I conduct myself on this server would have disallowed me to be in any kind of guild on live. However, here I have a spot because I'm a fairly active player. Population problems cause people who wouldn't normally play together do just that; play together. That's where we get people who were formerly enemies under one tag in Nihilum.

Second, players on Red99 have the longest memories in the history of online roleplaying games. Any kind of insult, train, or pvp that occurred a year, two years ago, or even on a different server is held against any player or group of players to the detriment of everyone. This mainly impacts Azrael's side. Some examples of these beefs include Kringe & Friedchicken, Tunak & Heartbrand, and Elderan & logic. The players on Red99 are some of the most hardcore players and because of this their rivalries run deep. I get that. But it becomes harmful to the progress and to the server at large when so few players refuse to play with each other. Ultimately, tribalism, rival factions, whatever you want to call them are harmful to the server at large.

Third, there are no defined rules for this server. This server needs a set-in-stone rule set in place that does not bend. I understand Sirken does his best and is a volunteer. I wouldn't be a GM here if it was a paid position because the thought of dealing with every aspect of this community makes me want to hurl myself in front of a train. However, rules are necessary. More importantly, the enforcement of said rules is paramount to the success of the server. Some examples would be:
1) Train = 7 days first offense
2) Train = 30 days second offense
3) Train = 90 days / perma-ban third offense

I personally wouldn't join Nihilum nor would they even entertain the idea of having me. However, if someone wants to join them that does not make them a bad person nor change who they are necessarily. I like people in Nihilum and people in Nihilum like me. I don't care if people I'm friends with kill me or if I kill them, because it's a video game.

Handpartytowel

Known Aliases: Handpartytowel, Heather, Helenkeller

Synopsis: I'd regard HPT as a pal, he doesn't care much about pixels. Rumor has it he is one of the original founders of MQ2 and knows how to write code that Brogean cannot detect.

Conclusion: HPT jumped ship, but it felt like it had more to do with his friends who had already jumped then him actually caring about pixels. I'd trust HPT if the rest of his friends were under the same roof.

Feniggles

Known Aliases: Feniggles, Fenix

Synopsis: Feniggles is hard to read, you're never sure where you have him or who he chooses to listen to. He will have you believe he was a loyal force member but i have reports saying he started swinging from Nihilums nuts prior to his force membership, only back then Nihilum was not being contested so his application was denied. I do enjoy the friendship with Feniggles, he is a true pvp player who doesn't really care about pixels (the vibe he gives off) but then again he did apply to Nihilum as he was leveling up which can only mean he does indeed care about pixels, i really don't know.

Conclusion: Feniggles isn't an emotional player which is great, i have no idea why he chose to apply to Nihilum the first time he did, i do somewhat understand the second time (parts of his guild "Force" went to Nihilum). I get a trustworthy vibe from Feniggles even though he did the things he did.

Stasis

Known Aliases: Stasis, Danak

Synopsis: Stasis left his holocaust pals when the server was on the down low with about 60 players peaking and joined Nihilum as a last resort. Stasis does not care about pixels, neither is he emotional. Great addition to any guild, the only down side is he can't play that much anymore.

Conclusion: I really have nothing bad to say about Stasis, his whistle is extremely clean, the only advice i'll give is don't hate the fools who did you wrong too much, it won't lead you anywhere good.

Synopsis: Retti is an highly emotional player that wants to come off as the "cool kid". He will rage, he will scream and he will flip flop. Hes done it before and will do it again. Retti is also known for his thirst for pixels, there's proof him paying $$$ RL money for elf swords. More evidence of his extreme pixel lust comes from a thread (http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=124955) where he said trading in "EC" was his favorite memory from EQ1999 while others shared stories and memories of big pvp battles.

Conclusion: I get many red flags telling me Retti cannot be trusted, highly emotional and unstable player that will flip to the flop whenever shit goes bad and may even RMT his shit away if he gets too frustrated.
