There has been a big trend on the server of folks of abusing IP exemptions to avoid camping; instantly loading into another character. This not only allows them to mobilize faster than the majority of the server who has integrity, but it also gives them an advantage in regards to time never having to camp and just instant tabbing to another client to load right in seconds after /qing.

This stuff needs to stop it is not classic. You can even watch guys on their streams doing it. Sirken you said in the open twitch forum you will remove IP exemptions if evidence is provided or GM's witness people doing this. We need some justice for the people who play the game fairly.

Seeking justice for the honest rule abiding majority.

A good chunk of my /played is Glitterati helping me do things. She's the best =) We/I get accused of boxing on an almost daily basis since she's my go-to assistant when it comes to things like PL, rezzes, whatever. I wouldn't have 6x sixties if it wasn't for her, too! But TMO will tell you how annoying I can be when she's not around - I spam guild chat incessantly for assistance that involves logging one of my characters.

I've used exemptions legitimately for years. It's pretty clear that I'm immersed - I try to get my friends to play, and I'm friends with people that play. I follow the rules and have a bit too much to lose if I were to press my luck, so I don't. I have always been honest and forthcoming with the staff. If they said "don't fast switch" I would gladly follow their rules and expect others to as well. I guess I just kind of did it (and so do hundreds of other people) and didn't really think about it because it takes so damn long to load anyways. I'm about to pitch playing to my new roommate, haha. He plays some shitty Simpsons game on his iPad and has been watching me play EQ while we hang out. He seems to have a lot of good questions about how the game works, so I'm hoping he's cut out for this! Or at least cut out for logging on my cleric and helping me out =)

Anyways, I'm about to do some load tests over my stream! I currently use a 2-year-old Solid State Drive that is considerably slower than it used to be, but I have a primitive RAMDrive installed on my desktop here so let's compare the load times.

Applying for an IP exemption and then using it to fast switch EVEN ONCE is using the exemption in an exploitative manner. Exemptions are there so multiple people can play on the same router. Using them in any manner other than the aforementioned intended use is an exploitation of the exemption status regardless of whether or not the use was advantageous in a PVE/whatever situation.

Sort of answered your own question huh. You use the /camp function as it is intended to be used. And if you dont like the chance of crashing you can always use '/camp server' to alleviate the possible crash at character select. Besides if you /camp server you will have no lockout even w/o an exemption and can log in any of your other toons as normal.

Yeah I always purposely avoided this possibility and camped when I had aggro. It's possible to log in another account and even buff your LD character, but I never did this either. I never split hairs over a few seconds and neither did the staff until today.

As everyone doesn't have innate exemptions, and as Ambrotos/IP exemption request form already says, the exempt status is not to be used like this, it is for multiple people accessing the server through the same router.

In addition, screenshots prove that this person is using the exemption to circumvent normal delays in gameplay, possibly giving him an advantage in poopsock / camping a raid target.

This TMO member (knowing it's against the rules) states that it's "irrelevant" because it's being done with a trade mule. What's even more absurd is that other TMO members have come on here to defend his behavior and have engaged in thier typical PR spin tactics to mitigate any potential damage
