On the first point of whether I've been sure someone did something, but couldn't prove it... If I can't prove it to myself, then I'm not sure of the guilt. It would seem a strange way to go through life believing in things without having some kind of justification. Certainly we have instincts and intuition, which are vital, but they should only be used an creative mechanism for considering new ideas, which then must be put to the test of logical scrutiny.

Also, it seems strange that you would be so sure about his guilt. "Definite" is most certainly more than 99% sure, which seems rather unlikely in this case. Based on my limited knowledge of what happened that night (the same knowledge you have), I'd put it closer to 5% chance that a guy with a gun decided to start a fist fight, and not the sizzurp drinking thug with a rather lengthy history of fighting. And that 5% is only because Zimmerman seems rather dumb and has his own history (and present) of violence. Put any reasonably intelligent person in there and it would drop to near 0% fast.

What you're referring to here, which is quite separate from the other bit I quoted, refers to ethnicity, not "race." All "black people" (a race) do not have a propensity for sickle cell. See: black people from south america, indian subcontinent, australia.
