As a leveling player and a veteran of emu PVP a few things standout to me.
1.) There are tremendous benefits to being higher level during PVP, it makes griefing lower level players very easy. I've only died once as a result of a red con player attacking me, but I could see where it would make a lot of new players quite the game.
An easy example is a high level mage with earth pet. The root proc on a 124 MR rogue if the mage is a red con was chain casting and sticking through nukes and melee damage. I can only imagine a poorly geared player trying to get into the 50+ range would be very frustrated coming across a player that can chain root them in place and kill them.
2.) Being higher level basically ignores gear and allows most spells to land for full duration/damage. If this isn't a freebie for casters/hybrids to grief leveling players than I'm not sure what other purpose it serves. I could care less at this point I'm level 51 and I'll be avoiding any encounters with red con casters that I can untill I'm 60, but most new players will not be that savvy, so consider tweaking the level system spell check for resists in PVP.

by the way, full damage still happens at 60
i get like a 30% partial against fire nukes 1 out of 5 casts with 150 fire resist

Reduce the pvp range. 52-60 is brutal and not pvp feasible for the 52 at all. Lvl 59 and 60 casters 1 shot you its just silly. Fun for the 59 60 ofc but painful and deters the drive to exp and progress.

Fine but you have to make more zones free for all then.

Level 60 rogue best gear you can have. I run around with 155 MR unbuffed.
I get pet rooted every fight with a mage multiple times. The other day a cleric rooted me first cast also. I have been rooted by druids multiple times as well.
The mage pet root is the worst but the others are just as bad. With my MR and level a root should have a .0001% chance to land on me.

Reminds me of checkraise maintank getting rooted by sektors cleric and dying.
Its the 5% regardless that makes 999 mr pointless. Im glad nilbog is investigating pvp bug thread now tho, great things and +population on the horizon.

Just cant do it. Out of range healers would be a huge issue. They are a pain enough now.

Majority of large battles are NOT 60v60. Its various levels 55-60 w majority 60 vs each other. I dont think its that big of a deal.
not saying 4 level range is the best range I just dont think the shortened in range threat of oor healing is an issue.
A cleric needs elixer to really be efficient and druid shamans need superior.
If anything it would encourage a wider range of pvp atendees since those out of range of the 60s can fill a roll and not be cannon fodder.

The real issue is the earth pet, and spell modifiers for higher levels to land on lower levels, not the PVP range.

I wish they would put in a trigger that if you heal/buff any beneficial spell to someone who is actively fighting someone then that person would become Red(Killable by that person no matter the level)
Example
If a 60 A is fighting 60 B and a level 45 heals 60 A then the level 45 becomes RED(killable) to the 60 B person.
Then you could put in the 4 level pvp range and not have to worry about OOR healer problems.

0 oor healing exists. Unless hes scared of lvl 49 druids greater healing. Gheal OP.

The PvP resist system here is fucking atrocious, is there a disgruntled Sony/Verant programmer who has the code because even classic EQ with all its resist problems was waaaaaaaaaaaay better than this server.

in red99 beta rogaine was working on a pvp flagging system that would adjust your level range to match that of the person you heal/buff to try and get rid of oor healing and such
it had a lot of bugs in the first few implementations and he scrapped it and basically stopped working on red99 altogether at that point
