I'm vegan.
Frankly, abstaining from animal products a more meaningful blow to tyranny than burning a flag, too. I mean, so you burn a flag -- so what? All you've accomplished is providing job security for a sweatshop laborer as they replace what you've destroyed. You're the problem, man.

I'm vegan.
I've heard you say that twice recently.. When did you decide to give up animal products? Good for you BTW.
Have you have done your homework as far as getting complete aminos? How are you dealing with Lysine ?

Do you still wear leather etc? Not judging at all (i do), just curious.

I've been seriously cutting back on red meat over the last couple years, have almost completely eliminated pork (except i just can't quit bacon for good.. been 3? months since i bought any tho), and have drastically increased my local vege intake .. I don't think I will ever go full on vegan, but I absolutely recognize what you're saying about meat products.
I have tried to shop at halal markets more often tho, which may not be everywhere, but which absolutely do not support the machine in the same way that buying a steak from a supermarket does.

I don't think I could ever go full on vegan. I love cheese and prawns and milky tea.

oh man i love honey and half&half in my coffee
i could give up half&half, i've had some almond milk recently that was acceptable, but I could never give up the honey. or the bacon.

Eating meat is one of those things where I just can't come up with a compelling reason why it is right, but I do it anyway because I love it. I've never seen a good argument for why it is morally right.
Also being 6'4 185, a runner, and a backpacker, I can't imagine how you would pack enough calories and protein for a multi-day romp up in the mountains.

I miss cheese less than I thought I would. If I have family in town and we go out to dinner or something I'll go a little soft-vegan and have dairy or an egg but I tell you it makes me so sick now. All I really yearn for any more is seafood -- crab-legs and sushi.
As far as maintaining proper nutrition -- it's very little effort on my part, probably because my wife is a great cook and scientist. We do add some supplements to certain meals but for the most part it's raw veggies, rice and pasta. The one real advantage of living in fucking Des Moines is we have a great farmer's market, which offers a nice variety of noms.
And no, I don't wear leather. Not so much from any ethical restraint so much as it's just tacky.

Wait, no honey?! I didn't even think of that. I like eggs a lot, too.
I'm going to make myself a nice seafood risotto tonight with spring vegetables, Turtle. I'll think of you.

I think you've exhausted this source of outrage. Furthermore, I think it's difficult for even the most dedicated patriot to find justification for military actions like Iraq and Afghanistan. Eisenhower knew what he was talking about.

I doubt either was the genuine american spring from which a real revolution will grow, but some of us were exposed to tactics that will be useful if that day does come.
its been 17 years since Independence Day, I'm not arguing that the only thing most Americans will arm themselves with is the television remote, but 3% won the first revolution

I would have more sympathy for these "oppressed peoples" if they weren't such monumental fuckups. And no, don't try to blame imperialism for making them shitty. Ethiopia wasn't conquered or even tampered with by whitey until just prior to WW2 and it was a shithole the entire time.
If your country fucking sucks you're going to get walked on by people who have their shit together. Sorry.
Also, for every troop of ours that gets picked off, we've probably murdered a dozen of them so, yea.

The loser is the working class in all of those countries. From a large perspective, the center of hegemony is irrelevant compared to the rigidness of aristocracy. Brazil is obviously showing signs of rebellion, but historical caste systems appear alive and well in Russia, India, and China.
