A small liberal arts college in Massachusetts has won the dubious distinction of being the first to officially condemn the American war against terrorism in Afghanistan.
Hampshire College students and staff in Amherst voted 693-121 for an antiwar resolution that also was an anti-American screed.
The one-page statement calls the war "symptomatic of the racism of American society." The resolution also blasts the failure to address the "root causes" of terrorism.
The resolution was pushed by a group called Students for a Peaceful Response---and antiwar organizers counted the ballots. “The process is so corrupt that it severely compromised the results,” senior Devan Goldstein told the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Part of Five College Consortium, it is widely known for its alternative curriculum, focus on portfolios rather than distribution requirements, and reliance on narrative evaluations instead of grades and GPAs. It is known particularly for facilitating the study of film, music, theater and the visual arts. In some fields, it is among the top undergraduate institutions in percentage of graduates who enroll in graduate school. Fifty-six percent of its alumni have at least one graduate degree and it is ranked 30th among all US colleges in the percentage of its graduates who go on to attain a doctorate degree (notably first among history doctorates).
I always assumed colleges were liberal as fuck, until I got into a good 1 with smart people who realize all our hard work ends up paying for all the lazy fucks on welfare. My school is like tea party central

assuming they are 18, they would have been 6 years old 12 years ago... Perhaps they can make a better judgement than the people who were exposed to the fear and propaganda created by the Bush administration.

I apologize for not also inserting a comment in there that he didn't even read the thread as it's the second time (this is the third) I pointed out the article in question is from 2001.
