You know I had a laundry list of things that I found wrong with the premise and what you said pretty much trumps all of them. The only loophole I can think of is:

During this time, police and hospitals suspend all assistance services and execute citizens who refuse to participate.

Didn't see it, don't plan on it. It's currently sitting at 40% on rotten tomatoes.
Reading the reviews is pretty hilarious.

WWZ is at 80% from all of the critics who's already seen it. Leaves a bit of hope for a good mindless action movie in a few weeks. :)

Saw it today, one of the most idiotic movies I've ever seen. Both of the kids in that movie must be mentally challenged, only way to explain the retarded decisions they make.

Also why don't they have panic rooms? That would solve the problem instantly.

The entire theatre was laughing when all it took for the big shot future security system to fail was two pickup trucks pulling at it.

This movie is basically a cash-in on the growing conspiracy surrounding FEMA and allegedly planned "population reduction".

I'm not sure why the government would be gung-ho about removing a large chunk of its tax revenue source, but whatever.

I'd be down robbing banks and electronics stores...ya know stocking up until next year.

I'm sure theres a reason they want that family but I doubt I'll ever find out why..

If you remember, The point was the working class made it possible for the rich to live. So that would make sense if they all turned on the rich they could be stuck.

I have not watched the Purge and probably will not, but I was just throwing that in there.

still seems kind of silly to take that chance to kill a few people that you don't like when you could be stocking up/bettering your financial situation for the full year until the next one.

girl in the family helps someone out who's the target of the invaders. it's more a movie on asylum in war times than anything.

Can someone explain to me why this is labeled as a Science Fiction movie? There's nothing science anything about it, it's a political fantasy horror movie.

It's labelled sci fi because it's set in a year advance of ours and some high-tech stuff is in it, I guess.

I don't get it either, the tech isn't a central part of the story at all.
