Requesting Help from GMs and Veteran Players to Track down Scammer: Mythoxxus/Napkin

This is going to be a rather long post, so please bear with me.

I have been on this server since May of 2011. In this time, I have cultivated mostly positive images of the community, as the vast majority of the members are helpful and friendly.

This is why when there are terrible people who ruin other people's game experiences, I'm inclined to point this out. Bettering the community for everyone to enjoy.

For this reason I am requesting that the community work together to figure out who this particular douchebag is so that we all know to avoid him.

This person is the same person who purchased Mythoxxus from me a while back. They hid under a veil of secrecy and refused to communicate with any main accounts or forum accounts, instead using only mules. For this reason, I do not have enough knowledge to be able to pinpoint who he actually is.

This individual scammed an account from me that I paid 1.5 million for. I am certain that he is the one responsible as he: a) was the only one who had enough information to steal the account, and b) read and ignored all the PMs I sent to his forum account.

Here is ALL of the information I have on this person. If you have any more, please help me find him.

- Owns the characters: Mythoxxus, Napkin, Borachai. <- ALL PURCHASED ACCS
- Has been playing since the early days of the server
- Last known guild: Flawless Victory (has connections with the known RMT-er Knightt)
- Was inspected by Sirken recently due to the connections with Knightt and found to be the "richest person on the server" (according to him anyway...)
- When I met him, had THREE pre-nerf fungi staves, a bag full of manastones and other extremely high end gear
- Has a baby
- Binds all of his characters on his "spot" in EC, which is the line on the ground in between T1 and Entrance.
- Recently offered 2 million PP for the purchase of the ranger epic MQ (VS and Inny piece) to someone in FE as well as TMO.
- FORUM NAME: hellowelfare678. Probably no longer going to be using this forum account as he has been revealed, but there it is.
- Was on the account Stabbyjoe at one point or another. Not 100% confirmed if that is his account or one that he was using, but GMs will probably investigate soon!

Obviously the GMs would be able to know who this person is immediately, and if they were willing to spend the time I would love to help with everything I can do.

Please assist me in this, lets reveal douchebags for who they are!

I gave him the login server info because he was planning on buying an epic MQ for the ranger. He used that information to extrapolate the equ emu info and change all the information around.

Norden is a great guy and I think most people on the server would attest to that. To see this happen to such an integral part of my guild and this server makes me really sad, he really didn't deserve this crap.

It appears that, although the scammer had norden's login password to log on temporarily, he didn't have the main eqemu password. the eqemu password was different than the login pass, and the scammer obtained basically out of brute force password cracking.

So the account was more hacked in a sense, as all of the eqemu info and the email were changed even though the scammer was not given the eqemu password to do so.

Ugh man, I'm sorry to hear about this. I'm good friends with deuces and was impressed with how much you actually paid for the sergon account. I'm still confused as to why you gave him the login info? From the sounds of your posts, I interpreted it as he was going to buy the epic mq for your ranger? why do that? Also, after buying/selling countless accounts over the years, how in the world did he get the eqemu info from the login? Unless, of course, you had the eqemu info the same as the login... Just curious, not blaming the victim. Again, sorry this happened to ya man, you seem like a real stand-up guy in the community. Few and far between.

It is like stealing all of someone's carefully crafted replica Model-T's from their prize model of the downtown 1915 Topeka train station at a model train convention in North Dakota. It is bizarre, pathetic, creepy, and disgusting.

I'm not sure I'd be bitching about this. You got to deal with the most disgusting gamer on the planet, in no small likelihood. Imagine all the sickness that can happen to a mind locked into eq for years, heavy plastic covering the windows, bottles of Popov littering the linoleum. It may be that unique a massively senseless mmorpg gank we are talking about here. It is like waking up and finding out that your fingers shoot out nickels. He has connections with Knightt in that he used to be in FV. He told me this fact, and then told me that he was inspected by GMs and found to be innocent. I figured he was telling the truth, as why would he mention the fact that he had connections to knightt at all if he was lying?

Turns out that in the end he was just an idiot, so thats that.

On a separate account, I changed only the login server password, and it never worked, must have typed it wrong. Also got told there's nothing they can do.

If they can undo this, there's obviously something they can do.

Oh I know he will, but it would be great if the devs would delete his account...

I don't see why they are so unwilling to permaban people, some of them have fucked the server several times and they MIGHT get a week ban...

sure i guess people can always make a new account and start over but theres no consequence besides a short break for cheating. little disheartening

I've seen this type of pattern in live and to an extent, here. I wonder if it's a necessary evil for a successful server? Is there a game or server anybody knows of where permaban is an immutable rule? How does a server like that fare? I have no experience upon which to draw for such parameters.

Is looking the other way by authority a necessary evil at times for the overall health? I only see arguments to the contrary- that we need hard rules and punishment to guarantee a successful community.

This is an honest question. I was thinking about it all and realized, the model I see talked about on this server is the only one I've ever experienced in EQ, EQ2, some WoW and P99.

I just don't see how the devs/gms can expect the entire server to follow the rules when they allow multiple people publicly to cheat and get away with it... why even try to contain any of it if you arent going to discipline the cheaters, shit time to go download mq. might get a slap on this wrist this afternoon if i do seeya next week!

I was in no way insinuating everyone from FV is an RMT-er. I just knew that this particular RMT-er was in FV at one point, and thought that the information might help track his mains down.

From information I'm getting it seems that he was Earthguard, a 60 guised epic ranger who was banned for RMT a while back.

I think the thought process of Stabbyjoe right before Knightt was banned was, "Hmm, Knightt is going to get banned, and I know his log in information. I'm going to unload all his money and items onto one of my characters."

I don't think Stabbyjoe did any RMT stuff before this; he just had the dumb idea of trying to take items and money before it got banned away on a RMT account.

I remember entire guilds/accounts being banned back in the first couple years of eq. But, the online world is not the same. What game can afford to just cunt punt people who try to mess the game up or cheat it? Too much supply not enough demand = the end of the era of "banning".

(played on the live prog serve in 2011, which SOE let be hacked, exploited, to hell and back. All they knew is, they had subscribers. I am guessing that is the attitude of every gaming company out there.)
