What should I do about my LS password?

Hi there everybody,

I changed the password to my shaman's account about a year ago to allow some friends to log into the character. However, immediately after I changed it, I was unable to log into it.

It seems I typed the password in wrong twice when I confirmed it. I have been locked out of the account for about a year, and I am just frustrated. GMs say they have no access to the LS password system, I am just stuck.

There's apparently no way for the password to be reset, and I have tried changing the password here (http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/profile.php?do=lspassword) using at least 2,000 variations on the password I intended, but nothing works. I am even starting to wonder if I had the wrong keyboard enabled at the time, you know where ;=ñ or y=z.

Has anybody else had a problem like this? How did you solve it?

From what I understand, any Login Server bugs or enhancements rely on Rogean to address them. Literally no one else has access to do anything about it or so it seems. He seems to either have no time or no interest in password resets and fixing Error 1018.

Your SoL. Rogean does not restore lost/mistyped Login server passwords.

Doing it for 1 person would mean doing it for 1000, and with account sales being allowed there's all kinds of bad things that could start going wrong for account buyers and such.

What would Swish do?
- ban account sales, and sort out this problem so that people can have their details sent to their email address.

...won't happen, but that's what I'd do :)
