What the fuck is wrong with Taxi Driver? I saw a dude today in EC named Dezknutz or last night some gnome named Rickjamez who ran around calling everyone bitch. While humorous for a moment it wore out quickly.

1). Inconsistent with the fantasy roleplaying genre.

2). Would have never been allowed on live, which the existence of this project is to emulate.

3). Possible accusations of copyright infringement from Columbia Pictures and the estate of Bernard Herrmann.

And you're right, those other names are equally inappropriate. It's just a matter of catching them.

I rest my case.

With that being said, he is following almost the exact same naming policy as live GMs used.

Anyways, this isn't at the forefront, nor will it be. Petitions are done in a triage manner of urgent to non-urgent. If your name gets changed, it might be because someone petitioned against it, or you happen to pass by a Guide or GM. No one is out looking for them.

To me, it looks like you were trying to call a bluff, and it didn't work out in your favor.

I'm not gonna lie. I'd be pissed if my name got nerfed. Same name for over a decade, it's like a favorite pair of jeans.

It's not hard to see both sides of this. Sometimes GMs have to make hard calls and someone's going to be unhappy. You can usually tell if they did a good job at compromise--in those cases, usually both sides are unhapy.
