The source of our discontents
Aristotle said the gods are omnipotent but there is one thing no god can do, and that is, to undo time. If all memory were erased, still the fact of past existence can never be.
And that's the problem. Technologically, socially, culturally, one simply cannot recreate how strange it was to raid with 50-100 people before the towers fell. We both know this game, and the experience is familiar. What is known, can't be unknown. Time, is unforgiving. So what is this server? Can't recreate 1999, unless you want to replicate what happens when the same router goes out in Kansas week after week. And, a bunch of people who can't believe they are talking to Chang, or at least trying to, or perhaps some member of the Saudi Royal family. I'm pretty sure I was once in a guild led by a minor sheik. So let's say what this server really is. It's a time warp that doesn't really time warp good. (see: router outages. see: enchanters) It plants us right in the "this is getting tiresome" spot in the simulator curve, and hopes it sticks. This is p99: [You must be logged in to view images. I forgot to include the event horizon curve dammit. It's the point in time, marked by a curve transecting the time line, back to which no one wants to go, nor would they even know how to code it (back) in. That knowledge is lost, and that familiarity is often good riddance.

So time goes higher the more familiar we are with our knowledge of the game?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and maybe I'm exposing my ignorance but that graph seems kinda made up
