Been messing around in Najena cos it has lots of weak kos mobs, densely packed.
I’ve been unable to work out the logic animation pets use for target selection. The order in which the pet added them to it’s aggro list and what is currently in melee range seems important, but it considers other things too. Occasionally it switches target (especially if a mob flees, or maybe if it gets taunted?)... either way I’m a lot further away from getting a good feel on how animations behave ... more research/experience needed on my end! Enjoying the project and it is definitely helping me out when I play other toons for those rare instances a group mate feels the need to use an animation.

Maybe the animation has its own hate list and switches targets when one of the mobs gets a smidge higher?
Getting closer to Boon of the Garou on my enchanter, I wanna try some of that animation + Garou business.

Since you asked what is mez kiting....
works on caster mobs with low hp only when you have a good nuke. You use your lowest mez. 1)Mez -> Tash -> Root -> Slow -> Nuke. 2)mob wakes up and starts casting 3) You Mez -> Tash (because mez can memblur and it'll start to regen) -> Nuke 4) Repeat step 3 till it's dead rooting keeps it from going to melee you. if you dont mind taking a hit here and there you can skip rooting part or not refresh it. This works on "Grik the Exile" really well, but since he is melee you just root instead of mez and have a pet out for whenever he might hit you. Good for afk camps where you have more than enough nuke power to down the mob and regen it before respawn. Some casters in TD are good camps for this. This is not fast exp, this is just an afk camp strat. | ||
