what is the hardest race/class combo for a new player with no guild/friends on R99

I'd say war/rogue/ranger/pal are all pretty close. Normally I wouldn't add paladin but it seems like their dps is pretty gimped here, add to that the group exp penalty and people won't want to group with you. Get 2 paladins in your group and your setup to get the slowest exp you've ever seen.

Rangers solo fine. Rogues and paladins far better than warriors.

One of my friends used to lay down some serious pwnsauce with his halfling ranger and pretty sure he wasn't a twink.

Iksar Warrior is brutal by the definition listed. Not only hella long down time and not much use, but xp penalty to boot. Pretty sure I got stuck at level 33 on original RoK servers. Death is brutal at these levels and it happens too often. Forget about leaving Kunark, there is no point except dungeon xp. You will die everywhere. [You must be logged in to view images. rogues and warriors of any class are about impossible to solo with no gear/group

in time people may meet people and join in a guild.

when i said no guilds / friends, i meant in coming to the server. if you play and your not a complete asshat you will eventually find a home im sure.

but the beginning is the hard part anyways

guilds do not equal groups young sirken (specifically before level 50)

maybe in time you will learn the ways of red99

Are you talking all the way to 60? 30? Low levels?

I mean, until level 15 a SK is a warrior with a huge XP penalty and a 5 damage lifetap.
