Red server is treated the same as the other servers by the GMs. GM staff hasn't abandoned it lol.
If a player was preventing someone from lnsing they would be breaking the rules, and I'm sure the GMs would work to rectify the situation. I doubt this happens very often anyway.

People got bored, because most were on the server either for PvP or to feel like they had "conquered" the game, by being on top after Velious hit. Those people are long gone and the server is now fully open to be colonized by PvE'rs.

EQ isn't designed for pvp, EQ pvp is a totally unbalanced hackjob. UO is for pvp, EQ is for pve. And I mean, there is still "pvp" on blue servers, you're still competing against other people, you just can't kill them outright. There's a reason nobody plays red sorry.

There is no real competition on Blue servers. Being the first to click is not any kind of meaningful achievement. PvE is supposed to be about learning the zones and encounters, interacting with the environment, figuring out how to play the game mechanics optimally. All of that has been figured out ages ago. PvE is empty of its meaning now, and just the threat of PvP (not even doing it, but just being prepared for it) is the only thing that adds something dynamic to the way the game is coded.
