Some of us grew up in rich families but I didn't, so I'm guessing these decisions were made just so we wouldn't be made fun of in school like other kids were but we did not have a lot of money so I'm guessing this is why my folks didn't have many "night's out." Hard to afford a baby sitter when you have to make sure your kid is eating "the new" bread at lunch.


I don't think rich people get, that for the rest of us, these things involve hard choices. But anyone who's read The Great Gatsby knows this. What's the famous line? “They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.”
