Default EC zone takes a long time to load

It loads fine on my laptop, but it loads extremely slow from my desktop. It takes a couple minutes at least. Is there a way I can fix that?

It's usually the most populated zone in the game. Are you zoning in from a connecting zone? Or gating to the tunnel or something like that?

If it's the latter, try lowering your clip plane all the way and see if that changes your load time at all.

Also, don't bind IN the tunnel. I find loading times much better binding either right near n.ro or outside away from the people.

I can go through the music loop on the loading screen up to 3 times zoning into EC, no other zones are slow. It is not that crowded usually 50-100 people.

Are you playing in windowed mode?

I've noticed it takes a lot longer to zone if I navigate away from the EQ window while zoning (like tab to a browser or something).

Slow for me too, but I just assume it's because of the amount of people in the zone. It's slower during peak times.
