The simple fact is, THJ was a proof of concept that there is a large market for a power fantasy version of EQ. That is why daybreak had it shut down so they could make their own eq power fantasy server and make money off it. Its going to be successful because that the way the world is now. The people who prefer P99's version of EQ are a dying breed and this server is slowly dying. It may take another 10 years, but its inevitable.

I think also people just want to be able to log in and do whatever they want. We're all getting older.

P99: tough to find groups, solo is boring unless you're mega twinked / enchanter / etc. Raid scene is insanely dumb. The other small percentage are the power farmers locking down the very best cash camps for either RMT or "monke brain like bank number go up."

Every MMO is catering to solo/casual/frictionless play, it's not just EQ.

M&M early access launch is in 6 weeks. I'm going to give it a try.
