Cen's guide to not giving a crap about legacy items!

Are you upset that you might not get one of the cool items? The time is coming to and end, but don't worry. I'd like to help you relax.

The classic Legacy items all actually kind of suck

We have a few legacy items in the game. Manastone, Guise, and Rubicite armor are your classic legacy items. There are other legacy items such as thex dagger and abu kar, but so many exist, if you want one, you can always get one.. and Jboots isnt legacy, only the original drop is. The items we do have that everyone wants, are by and large, the most silly items of all.

Lets start with Rubicite. The rubicite armor is probably what I consider the worst. Its great fashion, in a color thats unique.. by a factor of a few nanometers in wavelength of course. Other armors share very similar color for fashion, but what about stats? Its horrendous. All of the pieces are obselete, and even the breastplate regen is so pitiful, that if you wanted regen with better stats, we have that past kunark, and the truth is, you probably don't want that. There's so many better chest pieces for every class. An invigorate BP is far superior.

The Manastone. The toughest rarest of the bunch. Probably the most rediculously worthless item too. The amount of people who are farming it to sell it compared to farming it to use it is a pretty crazy contrast. Due to the nature of it being a classic only no planes item, it is going to be unusued for most of your life. If you aren't playing a Wizard or a Druid, and maybe a long long WAY long shot for a cleric, you have no business worrying about it. Druids can really inefficently use it to some degree, and a Wizard can slightly better with a special three item combo to use it the whole world over free of mana cost and health cost, but barely worth the time used for the combo. Clerics: you might say oh man that free CH clicky + manastone combo though for free mana.. Right but if you get that damn free CH clicky, thats the item we are about. That is the awesome part of that combo.. and you can save mana anywhere in the world with that.

The Guise seems least in demand, and yet is probably the best legacy item.. Dark elf form is a really fun tool to use if you are a goody, and especially one of a class they can't be. Its however not worth using for Shrink purposes, as that can be duplicated easily by all three classes who need the shrinks with much more effective items. Flavor and fashion only here.

Okay, forget all that. You don't believe me. Fine. Then lets choose a character that can live without them.

Bard - The bard gets to use the mask replacement for guise just the same. They cannot use the mana restoring function of the manastone at all. They get plate, and the strongest moving invigorate item in the game on top of the greatest regen. Hell, even Jboots is not worth it to them, as they can blow Jboots away. Do you want to win the not giving a shit about legacy items game? Play a Bard.

Enchanter - Enchanters have no need for guises of course, and cannot use Rubicite anyway. The manastone is utterly worthless to the class, due to them requiring health regen more then mana regen. Jboots are essential, but you can get those whenever.

Rogue - Doesn't use mana anyway. Gets to use Mask of Deception and other cool masks. Can wear Rubicite, but has way better and cooler gear options.

Paineel Erudites! - They aren't out JUST yet, but Paineel erudites cant get guises anyway. You never missed out because you held out for an awesome Broknight combo.

Iksar whatever - Will be out a little later, but Iksar can't wear the red shit and would never be able to use a guise anyway. Iksar monks are 1000% superior to Dark Elf Monks in function. Iksar Shaman no ruby and can canni instead of manastone anyway! Iksar Warriors are a power combo and are legacy free.

Dark Elf whatever - Here is an important fact about playing a natural Dark elf. It doesn't matter what race and class you are if you had the option of being a trueblood dark elf.. because no matter what, you'll always know what you really are. Every time you corpse run, character select, etc. You won't be sexy as a fake. A true dark elf is a sex god.
