Kevin Spacey turning out to be Kevin Spacey was probably for the best anyway. Seems the concept of ending a show on a high note leaving people wanting more just isn't lucrative enough compared to milking an IP until everyone hates it then moving on to another one to repeat the cycle until AI replaces the whole fucking industry.

in other news, caught up with Slow Horses now and have to wait two weeks for the next episode, going to watch Tinker Tailor Solider Spy now because it has the same actor Gary Oldman in it then moving on to other John le Carre books/movies that apparently Slow Horses is just ripping off whole cloth.

I've seen the series with Alec Guiness a few times and the sequel Smiley's People. It's a slow build-up, not everyone's cup of tea, but I like a lot of shows from the 60s and 70s. Great era for British TV drama.

Yeah, i need to watch it. I've never even seen The Spy Who Came In from the Cold which is insane considering Ice station Zebra is my favorite movie of all time. those late 60s movies are so good and both of them are usually in the top 10 lists for espionage thrillers.

been getting into the real stories too but it's so fucking depressing... people like Adolf Tolkachev being betrayed by Edward Lee Howard and Aldrich Ames

Cold War Conversations is a great podcast

That's funny I've never seen that movie and I'm a big fan of Patrick McGoohan, The Prisoner is one of those classic 60s shows. Also now seems like a good time to get back into the Cold War stuff, I'll check out that podcast.

Page 3 and nobody said The X-Files. Where were you in the mid-90s?

Also some shout outs to smaller older series...

Third Watch
The Shield
Outer Limits
Sliders (got worse with every season but 1-2 were good)

X-files runs into the jumping the shark problem the Mytharc fell apart sometime around the black ooze and that alien assassin my favorite episode was always and still is Darkness Falls

>Outer Limits
core childhood trauma memory unlocked, dad had the VHS tapes and The Galaxy Being is the first episode, shit scared the everloving shit out of me. Made a similar mistake with putting his copy of Marathon Man into the VHS machine also

>Sliders
loved it at the time same with SeaQuest DSV but they don't really hold up well and all remastered/restored episodes out there are like upscaled VHS rips that look terrible as shit.

I literally watch sliders 90% of the time I am playing EQ no lie.

I got to season 3.5 on Teek! I love sliders!

Even the cromags.

90s TV is my favorite.

Big fan of Steven King TV stuff

This is my EQ rotation:

Something Wickid This way Comes

The OG Stand.

The new g stand is also good.

Langoleirs! (yes this is very good I dont care what anyone says it's great.)

I think that's why I liked the new series "From" so much, it really felt like a 90s Steven King.

Storm of the Century

Id like suggestions for this theme!

I am sure I will think of more.

This one is so good!

I like the one where they have to live in the authoritarian shopping mall.
