How aggro would a Barb Scale Whip and Mosscovered Twig give a warrior?

Twig mainhand yes - Twig offhand no - Barbed Scale Whip no.
The low-delay thing is great for mainhand because melee classes get a a mainhand damage bonus based on level. The damage bonus is added to the weapon's damage statistic. At level 40, the Twig is effectively an 8/10 weapon if wielded in Primary; at level 52, a 12/10 weapon; and at level 58, a 14/10 weapon. That's godly. It's amazing for aggro. My monk friend pulls aggro off my warrior constantly with his Twig. For the offhand, there is no damage bonus, so ratio is the only thing that matters. There are a lot better ratio weapons than 4/11 or 3/10 available for the offhand. And all of this is not taking into account weapon procs, an important related factor. Search these forums for threads about warrior aggro or threat or weapons and you'll find years of discussion.

can't stop typing
Each Primary swing produces hate equal to the weapon's damage stat plus your damage bonus. Therefore, speed is most important (you might have to do some math to compare weapons).
Each Secondary swing produces hate equal to the weapon's damage. Therefore, ratio is what's important. help this hopes

I always thought 3/10 offhand was great aggro. I might just be wrong, but for warrior infestation MH and efreeti standard OH has been an amazing combo for aggro. I know for sure lowest delay MH matters for raw aggro. Why not for OH. Im pretty sure I can hold aggro better with 3/10 than lets say w/ frostbringer. But maybe im just wrong.

For main hand, 3/10 weapon = (2 * 3) + 11 + 5 = 22 slash, per 10 delay = 2.2 12/22 weapon = (2 * 12) + 11 + 5 = 40 slash, per 22 delay = 1.8 For offhand you don't get a weapon bonus (do you still get STR bonus?), 3/10 weapon = (2 * 3) + 0 + 5 = 11 slash, per 10 delay = 1.1 12/22 weapon = (2 * 12) + 0 + 5 = 29 slash, per 22 delay = 1.3 So a 3/10 is 22% better in main hand, and 15% worse in off hand.

There is melee aggro (aka white dmg) and proc aggro. For a warrior you have to keep both in consideration. Melee aggro comes from ratio per swing, not damage dealt, hence why haste capping a warrior per the level max is important.
A 3/10 MH will do more white damage aggro until it's competition (Frostbringer, Infestation, etc) starts procing at approximately 400 hate each time. That quickly closes the gap on the faster MH doing approximately 7% more melee aggro. The most important factor is as mentioned by Dcortez is both don't drop anymore making for some very expensive relic buys if you can find them. That and if going for straight dps there are better and cheaper options. I bet for MOK healing those are great though. Thinking outside the box is fun but getting people on board is the hard part. I'd prob go a more traditional route just to keep a loudmouth from "helping" explaining how aggro works via /tell. Likely after the wipe rather than searching their soul for ways they could have kept the group alive. | ||
