Brilliant Neuroscientist Dr Huberman didn’t know until watching Derek on MPMD that you shouldn’t shoot a 7 day half life testosterone ester only once every 2 weeks? Oof

At least he knows that the biggest libido killer is not low test, it’s actually low estrogen. And that boosting estrogen to a point (within natural range still) actually increases libido. Having low or no estrogen not only makes a man completely impotent, but also completely and utterly shuts off any arousal possibility in the brain. So even taking vasodilator like viagra won’t save you at all. Having estrogen that is far too high for a man will give weak performance in bed, but you still can have arousal in the brain at least. Unlike low estrogen, which kills both

Oddly enough the late Leo Longevity used to talk about purposefully crashing his estrogen with drugs to cause himself to have zero interest in women so that he could focus entirely on his work. RIP

What I think is a dark horse that is more impactful than any of these factors in weight loss is what I’ve seen loosely referred to as a “metabolic set point”

I don’t have nearly the info or credentials to define it better but my own layman definition is a combination of things keeping your body “used to” and expecting a particular ratio of fat to muscle

Losing weight is so significantly less miserable when given enough time for the body to generate a new metabolic set point as homeostasis. When that happens, all of a sudden eating too much will make the body suggest eating less, while eating too little will bring a reasonable level of hunger. Not the ravenous, hollow, holy shit I can’t function I’m so hungry level of hungry which happens as the fat is being lost but before the body can settle into a new metabolic set point

I have felt this personally myself when I was able to shift to having consistently less fat than before and keep it long enough, but it took what felt like months

Not really about weight loss but about menís issues, with fitness influencer Mike Thurston, the most objectively good lookin dude on the planet and the one I would probably bang if I were gay. Listened to the entire thing at the gym and found it interesting

Mike didnít say as much insightful stuff, but Chris sure does. The menís issues section starts at 24min and is labeled in the video timeline
